19 Hey, it's the Adventures of Pipe Man, like I just said, right here on W4CY Radio. And this is the Positively Pipe Man segment where we have the Pet Health Guru on right now to talk about health and wellness. For your pets, and for you. So let's welcome to the show, Bill, the Pet Health Guru. How are you? Hello, how are we doing today? I would say it's a good day, but it's a Monday, so I'll just say it should be a good day. There you go. Yeah, no, it's always a pleasure to be here on Mondays and, you know, get this segment out. It's, you know, Times are tough right now. I mean, it's making it difficult on everybody. And we're all just scrambling to get it done. It's still the same entrance to it.
12 I mean, it's all about what we put into our body. And, you know, how do our pets react? What are they telling us to do? I mean, again, it's staying away. It's being able to recognize when something is wrong. And, you know, your pets tell you very, very often. Basically, very subtly. The body is designed to hide problems, and especially when you get into the more primal animals, which our pets are compared to us. And so they hide illness. They hide aches and pain. Because if they don't, they're going to be somebody else's lunch. And it's just that simple.
54 You know, they'll crawl off into a, you know, especially our dogs and cats, into a closet or behind a chair or, you know, the couch or under a table whenever they're not feeling well. Just want to be left alone. And, of course, as pet parents, most of them overreact. And that's where the doctors and the veterinarians and the animal hospitals all just take advantage of you today. Well, they certainly do. I think veterinarians are way more taking advantage than doctors do because people care a lot more about their pets than they do their own health.
39 Yes. Yeah, it's a much more emotional sell to the pet parent because we also know that their time with us is limited. You know, we only have a certain number of years with our pets. And unfortunately, because of, you know, modern chemistry, if you will, but modern science, we've shortened that lifetime tremendously. And we found a profit center, which is being entered into by a lot of deep state, big money, you know, venture capital, all of that sort of thing to capitalize on it. And it's just taking advantage and not actually performing anything, not helping in any way.
25 So how do we check out these warning signals, especially the silent ones? Well, again, you've got to be cognizant of what your animal is doing. You know, when they seem like they're acting a little off, First off, don't overreact. You know, you don't just pack them up, throw them in the SUV and drive them to the hospital. Because if something is going on, that's only going to stress it even worse. Most of these things are nothing more than events in time. They're short periods of time. You know, you get an upset stomach. You got a little bit of a, you know, in us, you might have a little bit of congestion, you know, you know, a loose stool or something of that nature. And our dogs have a little bit of diarrhea, mucusy, whatever.
10 And the first thing we do is panic. And then the first thing they do when you go in the door at these clinics is attack it with pharmaceuticals. And they start running up a whole bunch of testing that is very expensive. And I would say probably... 50% to 75% of everybody that comes in to me, with their lab work in their hand, just been in a veterinarian, had all these tests done, and the absolute diagnosis was, we don't know. There's nothing wrong. According to all these tests, there's nothing wrong with your animal. Oh, by the way, here's your bill for $ 3, 000, $ 4, 000, $ 5, 000. So, you know, that's the first thing is don't panic. You know, diarrhea, vomiting, that's housekeeping. Just accept that that body is working the way it's supposed to, getting rid of stuff. Lumps and bumps are the same thing. Even though they're normally different forms of cancer, it's pushing the body, trying to get rid of those bad cells. It's working. You know, other problems that you might see are, are things like, you know, a little bit of lameness. You know, they're limping a little bit. They're not jumping up on the furniture like they used to. They're not running as fast. All of these are indication that, yes, something is not perfect. A lot of this stuff comes and goes. I know that,
41 you know, with your active lifestyle and your past, there's probably many times when you finish surfing and you got the next morning, it's like, how do I get out of bed? And it's only an event. Well, I don't know about the surfing part, but probably in the mosh pits, I would say that. Yeah. I could see that. But, you know, you hit some very rogue waves every now and then. You know, the waves don't care. Well, yeah, I have gotten beat up pretty bad at times. There was a couple years ago in Costa Rica, I got some bruised ribs one time.
21 So. There were some really bad riptides and some really advanced surfers like got hurt. So I don't feel bad. And I wiped out and that board went straight to my bottom rib dead on. And those boards are pretty hard. And those waves are pretty strong when they swing that thing back at you. So, of course, me being who I am. I was in Costa Rica. I wasn't going to miss out. So the rest of the time I was there, I was surfing with bruised ribs. The hardest part was getting past the waves because those waves would hit me as I'm paddling out and hitting my ribs. That's what hurt. But the thing is, I never went to the doctor for that. And I'm fine now. And sometimes that's what it is.
11 There was another. I'm going to make Juan laugh because he's in the background engineering the show. But there was another time that he went out to get something to eat. I didn't have enough patience to wait to get my stepladder or wait till he came back. And I was hanging something on the wall. I was standing on one of the rolly chairs right by the studio table and the bookshelf. And thank God I surf and skateboard because it could have been a lot worse. Okay. But I was literally pushing a thumbtack into the wall, and the wall was a lot harder than I expected. So, of course, you know what happened there. I pushed right off the wall.
53 That wheelie thing pushed right away. Oh, yeah. And I had to think fast, actually, because I knew that if I hit my head on the studio table, that could have been a problem when Juan got back. I knew if I hit that bookshelf and everything fell on me and I hit the table, that could have been a real problem. And I kind of basically did what, because when you skateboard and surf, you learn how to fall properly. Like one of the first things they teach you in surfing is to put your hands over your head, both of them like this, as soon as you fall off the board. Because that board will come and knock you out. I know people it's happened to where it knocked them out cold. So basically I just kind of like went with the flow. I didn't fight it. I went with the flow because when you fight it, that's when you get hurt. And I, I did end up, you know, eating crap, but I did not hit the conference room table.
01 I did not hit the bookshelf. The chair did and stuff did fall off, but, Did I go to the doctor? No. Did I have a lot of pain? Yeah, but it went away. Even with sickness, that's what I find. If I'm feeling really sick, sometimes you're like, oh my God, I just want to go to the doctor so I can feel better. But if you just wait a couple days, it does it on its own. That's what I've found a lot of times. It's just like, I'll be there, and I'll be like, maybe I should go to the doctor. And then literally a couple days after I say that to myself, I'm like, oh, I'm glad I did it.
43 And I think it's true for pets, too, I'm sure. Absolutely. And, of course, the thing is when you start to see these subtle changes, that little bit of a limp or that sort of thing, we can make adjustments in our diet and our exercise programs, our lifestyle, basically, that will accommodate that. that. You know, if they're limping, don't take them out and try to do a four-mile run. I mean, come on, use a little common sense. But by the same token, the other thing that people have a tendency to do is when their pets are not feeling well, They don't let them rest. You know, Fifi didn't eat breakfast, so I'm there every 20 minutes trying to force feed her. Wake her up.
27 Oh, I know. Don't do that. You know, it's crazy. You've got to let them rest and then get the right things in them. And, of course, in the food department... There's lots of herbs, which are foods, and botanicals that you can use along with that that are anti-inflammatory. You know, things like turmeric, white willow bark, and meadow sweet. These are all natural aspirin-type products, anti-inflammatories. And guess what? The inflammation goes away in a couple days. The animal is running around like there was no tomorrow. I've seen the same thing with changing diets in a lot of dogs that were clinically at the end of their life. And, you know, people were carrying them out to go potty. And just doing this simple change of diet alone, and I get a call at the end of their first week, and it's like, I don't know what happened, but the dog is running around the yard now.
24 It's that dramatic of a change just by doing those lifestyle changes. So you have to look at, were we the cause? of their dilemma, their illness, their health challenge. And in many cases, we are, you know, between bad food, cleaning products, chemtrails, you know, lawn stuff. All of that stuff contributes. And sometimes you just take a step back and go, okay, why is my dog sick today? He was fine three days ago. And, you know, then you go, oh, I just tried a new cleaning product. Or I just treated the lawn. Or, you know, I moved the furniture around. That caused all kinds of dust and mold and that, but you're up in the air again.
09 Well, I will tell you, too, like it's funny because I was just thinking about before you started talking about the idea of rest. First, I want to say with the eating, like just like with human beings. If somebody's not eating, maybe there's a reason. Like, we're not talking long-term. But, like, I know I had two heart attacks. The number one symptom for me, because my cardiologist says you have your own symptoms, is if I can't eat. That's when I know. Like, so if I have, like, chest pains, until I determine whether it's gas or a heart attack, gas, I'll still want to eat. Heart attack, I won't. There you go. You know, and I was thinking about it, too, right before you said about rest. I was thinking about the age-old thing of drink lots of fluids and get rest for no matter what your ailment is. And what is weird to me is Big Pharma is so brainwashed society today that people's first step is to take pills or prescriptions and then they don't even do the rest and the fluids. Like, wouldn't that be just as easy to get some rest, drink a lot of fluids, but no, we take pills instead, or that's our first go-to even if we do that. Shouldn't the first go-to would be rest and drink lots of fluids?
36 Exactly. You know, when you're resting, you know, this is one of the things. Our body has all the resources it needs to regenerate, and if you stay active, if you that's going to tax those resources. They're not going towards healing. They're going towards your movement and your activity and that sort of thing. Now, if you throw in drugs along with that and medications, now the body also has to kick into a different mode. I've got to get rid of that poison that you just put in this body. So again, it's diverting the resources away from healing to doing other functions. And You know, as you mentioned, like with fluids, drink lots of water, especially if you're on medication, that's number one. You need to flush out your liver and your kidney.
25 Yeah. Because, you know, that's working overtime to start with. That's why we, you know, we have illness is the toxins are building up. So don't put more toxins in the body. Let's clean it out. Find the right foods that are going to detoxify, which includes herbals and botanicals. And yeah, Rest, rest, rest. And, you know, generally speaking, like I say, it ends up to be an event. You know, it might be a day. It might be a week. Anything in between. You know, I mean, if there's a severe trauma, you know, that the animal got hit by a car or something like that, yes. You know, that's where emergency medicine comes in. That's totally different than what we see in most of the medical community today. But, you know, I've seen... When I was a kid, I saw farm dogs get thrown in the air by an angry cow or a bull. I've seen them get run over with a tractor, curl up in the barn. Three days later, they're out doing their job, herding the cattle all over again. They heal that fast.
34 But they had to rest. Yeah. I mean, that's true of anything. Rest is how your body can fight anything. If you're constantly on the go, go, go, which I am, but you're constantly on the go, go, go, you know, it's just like using your phone all the time without charging it. Exactly. No energy. And one of the other things, too, is that rest, of course, especially using the physical cycle of the earth with night and day, the body naturally detoxifies itself at night. So, you know, if you're doing activities with your dogs at night, your cats at night, or cats are nocturnal anyway, but especially with dogs, they're not detoxing the way they need to.
22 And like I said, if you're not using good clean water and good clean foods and, you know, a species-appropriate diet, it's eventually going to add up, add up, add up. And all of a sudden, you know, you wake up one morning and there's kitties laying in bed and, No breathing, you know, because they hid those symptoms and you didn't pick up on them. You didn't see that they were dehydrated. You didn't see that the, you know, the eyes were jauntous, you know, or their gums are pale from hypoglycemia because you've been feeding dry foods. And now they're having sugar spikes all over the place, diabetes, you know. So it's just being on top of it, watching the normal behavior, knowing what your normal behavior is. I mean, how many pet owners are putting their lifestyle on their pets? They need to have more exercise. They need to do more walking.
15 I hear it all the time. My dog doesn't get enough exercise. How much are they supposed to have? Do they have that chart on the wall in the gyms? I don't know. What exercises should they be doing? Are they doing push-ups? Are they doing pull-ups? Well, I know up here in Juneau Beach, they do surfing. Yes, they do. Dog surfing competition here up in Juneau Beach. So maybe that's good for the dogs. Yeah. It's each to its own, right? But again, now that's imposing a lifestyle on a dog that wouldn't naturally occur.
59 That's true, too. That's why I brought it up. It is kind of silly when you think about it. I know that everybody wants their companions to be close to them all the time, but, you know, they need time to be dogs and cats. That dogness has to come out at some point in time. Listen, some people are not going to like what I'm about to say. My mother was one of those people that she thought dogs were human. And, you know, that stuff kind of bugs me. I love dogs. I love animals. They're not humans, okay? And they don't, you know, they don't do a lot of things that humans do. And they do things that humans don't do. So, like, to your point, let them be a dog. They're not your daughter.
48 They're your dog. They're not, you know, you're going to laugh. My mother used to say as she was older, she's like, my daughters do more for me than my sons do. They take care of me. Like, I don't think they're in the kitchen cooking you up some food. Just saying. But, being said, yes, I get it. They are part of the family, okay? They're part of the family not as your child, but as an animal domesticated at that that has different needs than you do and that Basically, to your point, we shouldn't be forcing them to do human things.
37 Let them do dog things. Exactly. Yeah. And, you know, again, when you're doing that and adding in our activities and things like that, you know, your animals will let you know if you're pushing them too far, you know, or if they're not feeling well, that sort of thing. Sometimes when you, you know, especially when you're under stress is when everything starts to fall apart. And it's true with humans. It's the same thing is true with our pets. No doubt. Well, tell everybody how they can get more information on this. Check out your podcast. Check out your live show. Check out your website. Check out your store. All that good stuff. Yes. I mean, all this information is available through me.
19 If you come into the store and you have a chat with me, that's MyPaleoPet and MyPaleoPet.com for the online thing. We're in Pompano Beach, Florida. I'm there at least three days a week, sometimes four days a week, for podcasts. answering questions, things like that. Of course, I've mentioned many times on the show, we're in the middle of setting up our education center so we can have other people coming in and help out as well. You can always reach us, too, through the podcast at Health Cafe on these stations and on YouTube, Spotify, and a whole bunch of other platforms. Every week we try to have different topics which are relevant to both human and pet well-being.
03 It's all about making the body optimal. And when I say this, it's not true sculpturing, you know, the exercise programs, that sort of thing. It's about what we put into our body. And so it's physiologically working the right way because that's the key to longevity. It's the key to health. It's the key to happiness. You know, you've got to put all these things in the same barrel. And if you eat right, a good species-appropriate diet, which on humans is not possible because we have no idea because you've got everything from vegan to carnivore and caveman. Nobody can decide on anything as far as human diet is concerned.
44 But we know on our dogs and cats that they are true carnivores and they need animal-based product. And that's what we do at the BioComplete line, which, of course, is featured through MyPaleopath.com. both online and in the store. And we watch your animals thrive. We watch disease say bye-bye. Not that we're curing it. What we're doing is filling that toolbox of their body with the right tools. And no medication cures anything. It's all about symptom management when it comes to medicine. And I'm not looking at the symptoms. I'm looking at how to genuinely We build the body back up physiologically so it can sustain whatever we put it away.
32 Love it. That's why you're a resident here on the Adventures of Pipe Man, because you are the expert. You are the pet health guru.
