Man here on the Aventurance pipe Man W four c

5
00:00:22.760 --> 00:00:24.120
Y Radio, and I'm here with.

6
00:00:24.480 --> 00:00:25.679
Travis from Colorblind.

7
00:00:25.719 --> 00:00:25.879
Dude.

8
00:00:25.920 --> 00:00:27.039
It's great to be here, man.

9
00:00:26.960 --> 00:00:29.239
Oh Man, great to have you. Thanks for coming to prison.

10
00:00:29.480 --> 00:00:31.719
Yeah, that's right, baby, love it, dude.

11
00:00:31.399 --> 00:00:31.960
Oh Man.

12
00:00:32.039 --> 00:00:36.640
And so we were talking before about Danny Wimmer and

13
00:00:36.719 --> 00:00:39.479
how they treat you guys, and being at this is

14
00:00:39.479 --> 00:00:41.240
your first Danny Wimmer festival.

15
00:00:41.280 --> 00:00:43.520
Yeah, it's our very first one man, and I swear

16
00:00:43.560 --> 00:00:45.479
they just like treat us like royalty.

17
00:00:45.479 --> 00:00:45.679
Man.

18
00:00:45.799 --> 00:00:49.240
There's catering, there's breakfast, lunch, dinner, or we have a

19
00:00:49.359 --> 00:00:53.439
nice air conditioned artist area like bro, it's just amazing

20
00:00:53.560 --> 00:00:56.200
and like, we just fucking love being here.

21
00:00:56.359 --> 00:01:00.560
You expect that when you first were coming here or you, I.

22
00:01:00.520 --> 00:01:03.320
Mean, you hear great things, but whenever you get it,

23
00:01:03.399 --> 00:01:06.640
you're like, oh shit, this is awesome. So not necessarily

24
00:01:06.680 --> 00:01:09.519
expecting it, but I mean having it is just incredible.

25
00:01:09.840 --> 00:01:13.959
Yeah, And man, you guys killed it out there today.

26
00:01:13.959 --> 00:01:15.840
I sent one of my helpers out there because I

27
00:01:15.920 --> 00:01:19.040
was doing to interview, and she said, like, you blew

28
00:01:19.120 --> 00:01:21.319
everybody away. What does that feel like first thing in

29
00:01:21.359 --> 00:01:25.319
the morning at a festival and they're out there fucking

30
00:01:25.400 --> 00:01:26.640
going ape shit for you?

31
00:01:27.239 --> 00:01:27.799
It's weird.

32
00:01:27.879 --> 00:01:32.599
It's just a crazy, crazy feeling. I mean, we're still

33
00:01:32.799 --> 00:01:36.000
a much smaller band, and so like if we're coming

34
00:01:36.040 --> 00:01:39.560
to a festival and I'm seeing people sing lyrics that

35
00:01:39.599 --> 00:01:41.920
I wrote in my mom's living room, like, it just

36
00:01:41.959 --> 00:01:43.680
feels shrip, it's incredible.

37
00:01:43.760 --> 00:01:45.359
And the energy today.

38
00:01:45.159 --> 00:01:48.319
Was incredible, despite how early it was in the day,

39
00:01:48.359 --> 00:01:50.959
and I was a little worried, like about my voice,

40
00:01:51.040 --> 00:01:53.319
just because in the morning it takes a minute for

41
00:01:53.519 --> 00:01:55.760
my vocals to warm up. But I got up real

42
00:01:55.840 --> 00:01:58.719
early and did all my routines and we were feeling

43
00:01:58.760 --> 00:02:01.200
good and we were just man, the energy was just

44
00:02:01.239 --> 00:02:04.280
so high, and we were feeling that from the crowd,

45
00:02:04.319 --> 00:02:07.120
and that just translates to us, you know, like the

46
00:02:07.280 --> 00:02:10.280
energy from the crowd just makes us want to go

47
00:02:10.400 --> 00:02:13.120
even harder if they're loving it too. So it was

48
00:02:13.159 --> 00:02:16.120
just this beautiful exchange of energy and we were just

49
00:02:16.319 --> 00:02:16.960
so grateful.

50
00:02:17.400 --> 00:02:20.319
And you know what, I can tell, you're still high

51
00:02:20.319 --> 00:02:23.360
off the energy, right, Yeah, Like it's gonna be like

52
00:02:23.439 --> 00:02:27.840
all day, you're like floating in a cloud, right, yeah, yeah, exactly. Yeah,

53
00:02:27.879 --> 00:02:31.400
I gotta tell you too. Merch is very important for

54
00:02:31.479 --> 00:02:34.000
a band. People don't realize that that's how you get

55
00:02:34.039 --> 00:02:37.840
from show to show. I fucking love your pac Man

56
00:02:37.879 --> 00:02:38.639
T shirt.

57
00:02:38.840 --> 00:02:40.000
Oh thanks Man.

58
00:02:40.159 --> 00:02:41.599
As cool as shit.

59
00:02:41.800 --> 00:02:42.919
Yeah, so thanks.

60
00:02:42.960 --> 00:02:45.759
People have to check out your merch because it's like unique.

61
00:02:45.919 --> 00:02:48.240
Oh thank you. I would totally wear that shirt and

62
00:02:48.319 --> 00:02:50.439
so should all my listeners or they can't listen to

63
00:02:50.719 --> 00:02:51.639
my show anymore.

64
00:02:51.800 --> 00:02:54.120
Yeah yeah, oh fuck yeah, well yeah, no, we're stoked.

65
00:02:54.120 --> 00:02:57.240
We really tried to have kind of unique merch designs

66
00:02:57.319 --> 00:03:00.520
and it's something that we have fun working on, So

67
00:03:00.680 --> 00:03:02.400
we're stoked. We try to put a lot into that

68
00:03:02.639 --> 00:03:04.280
and put a lot of thought into it. And it

69
00:03:04.319 --> 00:03:07.039
seems to appreciate you saying that how.

70
00:03:07.080 --> 00:03:10.719
People get to your merch, in to your socials and

71
00:03:10.759 --> 00:03:12.840
all that to connect with you and buy your merch,

72
00:03:12.919 --> 00:03:14.319
check out tour dates and all that.

73
00:03:14.759 --> 00:03:18.080
So we have our merch on our website at colorblind

74
00:03:18.120 --> 00:03:20.800
tx dot com. We drop a lot of like the

75
00:03:20.879 --> 00:03:24.759
leftover merch on the website, like the leftover merch from tour,

76
00:03:25.080 --> 00:03:27.360
so the leftover sizes and things like that we have

77
00:03:27.439 --> 00:03:30.719
on our website. Here at this festival, it's at the

78
00:03:30.719 --> 00:03:33.199
merch stand that's by main stage. The main stage is

79
00:03:33.199 --> 00:03:35.919
called the Yard, so we're over there, and man, after

80
00:03:36.080 --> 00:03:39.800
every single color Blind show, we are hanging out at

81
00:03:39.800 --> 00:03:42.759
our merch booth and meeting every single one of our fans,

82
00:03:42.800 --> 00:03:45.280
because that is just like the point of doing this,

83
00:03:45.400 --> 00:03:48.639
getting to meet the people that give us this opportunity

84
00:03:48.639 --> 00:03:50.800
to be here, and so like we really really take

85
00:03:50.879 --> 00:03:53.759
pride and being there, and we love just spending as

86
00:03:53.840 --> 00:03:56.159
much time as we possibly can with those people over

87
00:03:56.199 --> 00:03:57.039
at the merch table.

88
00:03:57.159 --> 00:04:01.719
So I love your attitude, cuz every band has an attitude,

89
00:04:01.759 --> 00:04:04.560
and that is what it all. It's all about connecting

90
00:04:04.680 --> 00:04:07.840
with the fans and creating a community.

91
00:04:07.800 --> 00:04:08.240
Yeah, man.

92
00:04:08.360 --> 00:04:13.319
And it's just hearing people's stories and hearing how certain

93
00:04:13.400 --> 00:04:16.240
songs that we have helped them through a hard time

94
00:04:16.279 --> 00:04:18.519
in their life or grieve a loved one. It's like

95
00:04:18.800 --> 00:04:20.920
all I could ever ask for is, like, you know,

96
00:04:21.000 --> 00:04:24.680
writing something if it can like help somebody going through

97
00:04:24.680 --> 00:04:27.399
a hard time is just like that's all an artist

98
00:04:27.399 --> 00:04:29.399
could ever asked for when making something.

99
00:04:29.439 --> 00:04:31.319
And so I'm just so fucking.

100
00:04:31.079 --> 00:04:34.519
Grateful that people share those stories with us, are willing

101
00:04:34.560 --> 00:04:35.959
to come up and talk about it.

102
00:04:36.399 --> 00:04:37.439
That's what it's all about.

103
00:04:37.560 --> 00:04:41.240
We're all community, we're all family, and I just love

104
00:04:41.399 --> 00:04:43.920
how you embrace that so much.

105
00:04:43.959 --> 00:04:45.040
And therapy.

106
00:04:45.199 --> 00:04:49.279
You're talking about therapy like music's graves therapy ever for you,

107
00:04:49.399 --> 00:04:52.519
the artists and for us to fan. So I think

108
00:04:52.639 --> 00:04:55.319
as an artist, probably it's the best feeling when you

109
00:04:55.439 --> 00:04:58.920
helped somebody out, even if they took something different from

110
00:04:59.000 --> 00:05:00.519
your song than you meant from it.

111
00:05:00.879 --> 00:05:03.439
Yeah, that's one thing too, is like you know, whenever

112
00:05:03.480 --> 00:05:07.319
I'm writing, I kind of like leaving the song. I

113
00:05:07.360 --> 00:05:10.199
write it for what it's about for me, but I

114
00:05:10.240 --> 00:05:15.639
also like leaving lyrically it open enough for interpretation for

115
00:05:15.920 --> 00:05:19.279
the listener to relate it to their lives, because a

116
00:05:19.279 --> 00:05:21.319
lot of the time, it's like, it's not about what

117
00:05:21.360 --> 00:05:24.079
I'm writing the song about, it's what you think it's about.

118
00:05:24.160 --> 00:05:25.959
It's how you relate it to your life.

119
00:05:26.000 --> 00:05:29.360
That's how that song is special to you listening it

120
00:05:29.439 --> 00:05:32.839
and to it so man like, it's just awesome to me.

121
00:05:33.000 --> 00:05:38.079
That's the key to a good songwriter, where it's they're

122
00:05:38.120 --> 00:05:42.399
telling their story, but it also has that kind of

123
00:05:43.279 --> 00:05:47.000
vibe where somebody gets a whole different meaning now and

124
00:05:47.040 --> 00:05:49.839
implies to them. So when you're a songwriter, that makes

125
00:05:49.839 --> 00:05:53.079
that happen. To me, that's the pinnacle of songwriting.

126
00:05:53.319 --> 00:05:55.439
Yeah, man, Just always trying to get better, always trying

127
00:05:55.439 --> 00:05:57.560
to learn, and trying to be in the room with

128
00:05:57.680 --> 00:06:00.959
people that are better than me and listening and just

129
00:06:01.360 --> 00:06:02.639
creating and having fun.

130
00:06:02.720 --> 00:06:03.120
Dude.

131
00:06:03.519 --> 00:06:07.120
And I'm really happy too that our world right now

132
00:06:07.240 --> 00:06:11.600
is pretty not perfect. Yeah, it's fucked and yeah, totally.

133
00:06:12.120 --> 00:06:15.600
So you're doing this end of the Perfect World tour.

134
00:06:15.680 --> 00:06:17.399
I think it's so fucking appropriate.

135
00:06:17.600 --> 00:06:20.560
Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, that's Catch Your Breath's name

136
00:06:20.639 --> 00:06:23.800
for this tour and yeah, so yeah, just to clarify, also,

137
00:06:24.000 --> 00:06:25.040
we just got off the road.

138
00:06:24.879 --> 00:06:25.480
With Day Seeker.

139
00:06:25.519 --> 00:06:29.040
We're playing Incarceration, and now we're routing home with Catch

140
00:06:29.040 --> 00:06:31.160
Your Breath, which is the End of the Perfect World tour,

141
00:06:31.399 --> 00:06:34.120
right Yeah, And dude, funny thing about Catch your Breath

142
00:06:34.279 --> 00:06:37.720
is colorblind and Catch your Breath we both came out

143
00:06:37.759 --> 00:06:40.160
of the same local scene in Austin, Texas.

144
00:06:40.160 --> 00:06:41.079
Like, that's so cool.

145
00:06:41.160 --> 00:06:44.439
We played local shows together in front of like ten people,

146
00:06:44.600 --> 00:06:47.800
and now we get to tour the like America and

147
00:06:47.839 --> 00:06:50.079
play in front of like these giant crowds and like

148
00:06:50.279 --> 00:06:53.759
so like the green room backstage before shows, like the

149
00:06:53.879 --> 00:06:56.439
energy is just so high because we've known each other.

150
00:06:56.319 --> 00:06:57.759
For years, best friends.

151
00:06:57.839 --> 00:07:00.480
Yeah, and so it just feels we're all just back there,

152
00:07:00.519 --> 00:07:02.000
like what the what's happening?

153
00:07:02.319 --> 00:07:03.839
Right, you know what I mean? And so it's just

154
00:07:03.920 --> 00:07:07.079
so we're just so cool. It's so cool, man.

155
00:07:07.319 --> 00:07:10.040
It's cool when you can be on tour with friends

156
00:07:10.079 --> 00:07:13.879
but also that are experiencing the same things as you.

157
00:07:13.959 --> 00:07:15.839
It's like you're on the same page.

158
00:07:16.000 --> 00:07:17.959
Yeah, exactly, exactly.

159
00:07:18.040 --> 00:07:19.879
