Welcome to Rockville in the Daytona Speedway. Man, Now is that wild? When you came up, did you imagine you'd be driving through the speedway to get the artist area? No, not at all. No, it's really crazy. I attended Rockville last year fucking had a great time, and it's really surreal to be like coming back here and playing the fest right, really getting to still also watch my favorite bands, So very cool moment for us.

0:53 How has it been so far as a comparison from being here and being an artist here? Honestly, it's so different. But at the same time, it's a bunch of people that just fucking love music that are all in the same space, and the energy's there. It doesn't matter what side of the stage you're on. Yep. People are giving back on both ends the whole day. So it's all expression. At the end of the day. Yeah, and there's nothing. There's no you can go wrong with that. Totally, and we're like one big happy family like people think of like metal heads and punks and rock and rollers like this certain way, and like we're like the nicest people usually. We just have that persona that people perceive.

1:35 That's so true. Yeah, yeah, either one R is one. I was probably with it. Yeah, let's just keep them thinking that, you know, so we can keep the assholes out. The whole wardrobe is cooler too, you know when you're in all the ltic and spikes and you. Know, even in Florida. Yeah, it's not practical at all, but we look damn cool everybody here. All that matters. Yeah, one time, I think it was here at Rockville one time. While I was interviewing tailor, mom'son we're like friendly now, I'm like, after an interview, I'm like, how the fuck do you go up on stage with that trench coast leather jacket and survit? Oh it looks Yeah, she does look badass, but man, how do you make it through a whole set like that? That's also an art form, right, People have no idea. That's a whole separate art form.

2:16 Totally. I think people don't understand what it's like to be an arts like, so they think, first of all, they think all ors are extroverts. They're only extroverts usually on stage. Yeah, I'm such an introvert, right, I'm such an introvert. But there's this switch when you go on stage and it's almost like I was explaining somebody last night, it's almost like nobody's out there, it's just you. When you're up there, it doesn't even come into play really. And then even the nervousness, like everybody gets nervous before they get on stage, no matter who they are, But the minute you turn on that mic, it's like you're in this zone. Oh absolutely, Yeah. Yeah, it's crazy how that happens. You get butterflies and you're like driving into to the place and you're seeing these crazy ass stages, and then you're side stage and we're just like exciting, we're just like ready to have a good time, and.

3:01 You're at the end of the day, you're throwing a party back. Yeah. So did it blow your mind to be here first day, playing early and still have a crowd like that for your show? Yeah, your nervous system is there's nothing you can do to prepare your nervous system. For that, right, It stupid. Oh and for people that are more like sensitive to that, you're just like, okay, we're doing this. Yeah, and there's no way you can do even prepare, Like your body just goes somewhere else. That's the point. It's like an out of body experience when you're up there. Yeah, honestly, it's just to see that kind of turn out so early in the day. We're just we're really grateful that people are down to get nasty with us at twelve thirty on a Thursday. Yeah, it's outlandish. I love it.

3:43 And to see how many people come out from just little clips we've been making with our friends, Like, I don't even have words for it. It's unreal. Well, you guys are definitely badass. And I gotta say, as somebody that's been the metal scene since like nineteen eighty, Okay, what the fuck were we thinking in the eighties because women are way more badasses in metal. I just have to say that. Okay, we like tried to keep you guys out and that was fucking stupid. Hey, we appreciate that. We think you know, we're all just evolving, and we're happy to add some new flavors and new frequencies for people to resonate with and really just kind of lock that in and fucking rock and show people like we're all the same.

4:25 Ultimately, totally so true, what brought you here? What was the original thing that like led you to this day? Honestly just following whatever the fuck we want to do. I love it so true. Every time you are like, don't do that, I'm okay, I'm gonna do that. Yeah. Yeah, I think it's been a long process, but we've always been playing music our whole life and so like to it doesn't surprise me that it's. Even if it doesn't make sense, but we felt like a feeling of pulling to do something. We just follow that, and. I feel like it never really leads you astray if you honor that space. Yeah, totally, And it isn't something you really think about. It's not like when you're a kid. When I grew up, I'm going to be a doctor, I'm going to be a lawyer. Like everybody says they're going to be a rock star, but nobody really thinks that's what they're actually doing.

5:14 Yeah. No, I didn't have that on the Bingo card. Yeah, I was just causing problems. It just makes sense. It's it's more of a magnetization towards the craft, and it's like a calling or the vocation more so than I want to be a rock star. I know, right. Yeah, And I gotta tell you, I laughed really hard because it happens to me all the time. When you were doing that Facebook where you were in the car and Siri was interrupting you. I thing we did that last week, right. Oh, I got Sometimes I'm not in the studio, I'm doing my interviews at my place, like fucking I nowhere. I'm in the middle of the interview and Alexis starts answering something, Oh yeah, like I'm not fucking talking to you, Alexa. Yeah.

5:58 Inspired by true life events where that song was kind of orged from, Like. Technologists just like interrupt you constantly and are just trying to be like, okay, listen. I've always said that they're listening to us, and that was just proof. It's so funny everything I talk about shows up on my phone. Yeah. Oh yeah, absolutely, another algorithm of your mind. I know, right. People talked about us Gang chipped. We chipped ourselves with these things, man like do everything to ourselves ultimately, Yeah, it's true. So what do you think about social media and how you have to be an artist in this world of I come from the world of ape trading and looking at a magazine like Bam Magazine in LA and like, Oh, those dudes look cool.

6:42 I'm going to go to their show. Yeah, that's how I found Metallic, en Slayer and bands like that. Like I didn't know what they sounded like nothing. I couldn't bitch about them on social media because that's the thing that pisses me off. It's since when should your phone be your psychotherapist, your place to be a fucking whiny bitch about everything? Like I was just at Sonic Tempo. I couldn't believe how many people like you're watching Metallica do five hours worth of music and you're fucking complaining. Yeah, I don't get it. Yeah, like we said, people just do it to themselves ultimately, you know what I mean. I feel like this era of social media is.

Because you want to self empower yourself, you can do it, but the pain of breaking through those levels and becoming your own cheerleader and not letting the weight of anyone can say anything they want about you. You know what I mean, loving yourself so much that doesn't need to the hate doesn't need. To affect you at your court totally. This practice in that really it's almost good sometimes when you get a large bowing, because then you don't have time to read all the stupid comments that people make and there's no sense to them. Yeah, and every negative comment I've ever seen on my socials or AMI shows. The people have no fucking followers, no posts, no nothing. I'm like, why are they commenting on everything? It's like what you said, you used to go to a show because you liked an artist or you liked a band, and that's why you're there. So everybody there is into the same kind of music and then the same energy. But now anybody chiming online, which you know, it's like, you don't have to be here, you don't have to listen to us, you don't have to go through our page.

8:17 But people don't like a band, you just don't got it or gig. You don't fight their music, you don't fight their merch. You don't mean you don't have to be here say what people say, even in the negative comments, says way more about them and their consciousness level says about any of the person they're tall. It's just a mirror. It's like at that. Point you just have to honestly practice having grace for them and doing you because we're. All sometimes even work it out in like. I've converted some fans, yeah, from some crazy as shit. They've sound like, oh fine, once. In a mom' have a dialogue back and forth, They're like, oh, never mind, and it's funny. It's funny how that works out. Like Okay. So as an example, I'm a Jew and I set had a conversation with nazi once, like a real neo skinhead Nazi, and I just found out that he was just so overly misinformed. And because I didn't act like a dick to him and just had a conversation, he was willing to listen, and they could see that what he was thinking was stupid, like I didn't have horns coming out of my head.

9:20 I think a lot of people realize we're all really the same at the end of the day. That's why in today's day and age, like my viewpoint is, you do you if it doesn't. Why do people spend so much time of talking about shit that doesn't affect their life in any way short or formance. Right, I don't care what your sexual preference is, your gender, you're if that's who you want to be and that makes you happy, and you're not hurting anybody, right, who cares? It's so what people are so consumed nowadays with the political climate of just being hateful teacher, Like I say, here's my solution. Have one music festival for the whole world that's manned toy for everybody to a pan.

10:01 I love a mandatory music festival, rights. And you will find out that shut the fuck up and just all have a good time and love each other. Right, is the thing that goes beyond the logical mind. Like, at the end of the day, we're all the same. And it's dope to see like people globally gravitate towards like they might not even know what we're saying, but they feel the frequency of what we're saying. You know, it's the energy for sure. Man. Sometimes it's not even the lyrics, like no, it's really not. It's like there's a vibe that is beyond that and that's what we so we care to anchor. And that's why I love about you guys, because this is the way it should be. It should be we should just be all one wants to be all exactly the same. Yeah, but everybody's like, I'm no friends with you anymore if you don't think exactly the same as me type of thing. So what else you got coming up after Rockville? I know you have in my one of my favorite festivals.

10:56 It's gonna be our first time going to Incarceration where yeah, my god got down the pipeline. And we also have a tour that just got announced hetting out this summer. Within this moment. Whoa, yeah we love Yeah. Catvonde and Worgasm, so we're hype wow, very excited. I love Moorgasm. They're so cool. I saw him the first time when I was covering Download and man, they're just so badass, so good, and they're so good. I love what Cat Bundy it's become. I love how. Brave she is. I just love how brave she is. I think seeing her whole evolution and she does it so gracefully in front of everyone, I'm like, fucking respect. I'm multiply visit artists. No doubt. Really, yeah, absolutely, one hundred percent. And I think you know her how she is presenting herself. Now, it's smart to show to reel you, like we all have to put this image on sometimes done with that, We're done, exactly, It's better to just be you. Like I run multiple radio stations and I tell people, I'm like, just be yourself and don't polish it up. Don't like my interviews. The only thing I added it is the sound quality or a real serious fuck up, or like when you know, somebody says something that doesn't make them look good to artists and I'll clean that up or whatever, because my job is to promote you guys. It's not to get famous off of making you look bad like a lot of other media people.

12:19 And I feel like that's ultimately why I'm stepping back into the music scene now. It's just that's our aim, Like we're we are who we are. And like we've dealt with a lot of hate just because we are different for the space that. Which He's cool with me. Well, it's really it's like you got to love yourself more like from a real standpoint than people's projections on Exactly. Yeah, one of the things I do really like about you guys is what you were touching on right there, Because a lot of bands, especially like metalcore bands and stuff, now they follow like this algebraic equation to make their music. Yeah, and like I was at Metallica and Slayer's first gig ever, they're both thrashed, they're both totally different sounds. Yeah, like you can tell the differ. You could tell the difference between the different bands. There's some bands now it's like you just sound exactly the same. So I'm so refreshed when I hear artists like you guys that it's like, oh, that's cool. Like you can listen to a whole song and it has different elements to it opposed to okay, I heard the whole song in ten seconds. Yeah.

13:22 We like to not really conform to a certain genre stereotypes or like parameters within that. I hate genres. Yeah, it's unnecessary. Do boxes, I must say, I can't. I've been trying to put in many boxes and I can. Oh. I hate it. Yeah, it's supposed to be art, and I think when you're confined to these regulations around a genre, then so it's so funny because we don't even care when people will call us a whole different smattering of different genres and we're just like, it is what it is, like. Whatever you need, whatever, you know what I mean, people want to call it one thing. I'm like, ultimately, we're just doing our doing us. Yeah. And I think when you are in ours, like that's the lungevity because you're not playing a role, You're just being you and the people that are your people are going to be there and the people that aren't your people won't. And that's cool.

14:06 Yeah, Like if you're your real vibe, you'll get the real ones and it weeds out the people that are on that wavelength and and OK. Yeah, and Ali said it best recently when he was getting so much shit for the new Bring Me In a Rise and stuff, He's like, why do I want to write the same song over and over again? And I'm thinking that album. I love it, I love it all. I think it's amazing because I'm thinking myself, Yeah, if I'm an artist for twenty thirty years, I'm going to be bored as fuck if I'm just writing the same songs. And you know, there's some bands that they're following. They don't want to change at all. Yeah, and I'm like, what happens is you lose the edge. There's a couple of my favorite bands from their early days. I love them and I still like them now, but their new stuff is they're just trying to be that band still and it doesn't have that same feel in that same edge for us.

14:55 It's like we're all always evolving. No second, we're the same person. So it's I feel for us at least, it's disingenuous to do anything other than keep changing. Yeah, it's crazy to think that you're just gonna be this one stagnant like character your whole life. It seems outlandish. I'm not the same person I was when I was sixteen things singing. I was singing thrash metal at sixteen. I'm not the same person now. Just performed exactly exactly, or we'll put you or like you. I think everybody's like a whole bunch of different people. I joke about on my radio show the I'm schizophrenic. It really just means I have multiple facets of my personality and don't fucking make me this is who you are, because that would be boring, right If you're just one dimensional like that, So we're multidimensional there, it is. So tell everybody how they can connect you on socials, on the web, get your music, check out your tour dates all I could, and oh wait, most importantly, buy your merch because they can't listen to my show unless say buy your merch, because that's the only way you our survived. I love doing it, but when you've done the same festival for fifteen years, it's I don't know if excitement is the word. But the first time I did inc, I was standing in the yard, the prison yard of Shawshank, and I call my door. I'm like, now I'm excited. I'm at the prison yard of shaw Shank.

17:10 And then I was taking a picture to prison. This other dude who was in band was taking a picture and he goes, hey, can you take my picture? I'll take yours. Look at us. We're fanboying out on shaw Shank. Yeah. Iconic. That's a crazy, iconic movie. And then yeah, I can't even wait to step foot over there. Then the vibes there, holy shit, let's get ready.
