04 Hi, you love done too. Yes, that's true. Why for you? You Welcome to Rockville, North America's largest rock festival is finally here. This is the Pipe Man here on the Adventures pipe Man W four c Y Radio, and I'm here with. Ronnie from the Red Jumpsuit Apperettus. Yes, and I'm very impressed in this heat that you came off that stage and came over to the media area just like that. Yeah, as usual. I have no idea what I'm doing, and I was just walking in this direction and then I was like, yo, there's deep. Yeah, I love it. And we were there for your set.

45 It's the only set I've been able to catch today because I've been here. But I put it, like, put it in my schedule and yet man, you kicked it. But yeah, I don't know. I felt like it went great. But you can always expect people online to say you terrible even when you don't. Yeah, So who knows for the people listening who didn't get to catch alive. But if you were there, I think you probably had a good time. Yeah. The nice crowd too, particularly in the day, first fan worth first fan, I know, and it was like amazing. It was a sea of people. I don't think Green Day will have that main people. Ha ha whoa, Okay, I didn't say that. I'm a hardcore Green Day fan, all right, So hey, Billy wasn't me, Bro wasn't me. Don't kill me. I still love you, Billy Nice. They'm a Trey Cool fan. He's the best drum in the world.

29 And it's funny. I've been saying to a few of the bands today they are like warped tour type bands. I'm like, Today's like warped tour day. Yeah, And as I was saying something to my grandson, you started playing Blink one, A two. There you go. Because they're not on the bill, and it seems like everybody else is. So I was like, dang, it feels like Blink's here even though they're not. So let's just give them Blink. There he goes. They're my favorite band, so you know, might as well day Blink. They're all those bands popped off when I was like fourteen. Wow, between ten and fourteens, they were the biggest, coolest, sickest, amazingest bands and still are. So they've only gotten bigger since then. And when I got into Green Day and I got into Blink, they were already huge. Actually I got into Blink super early. That's not true. I was og Blink. But Green Day they were already big by the time. You know, when Dukie came out, they were just killing it. And I wasn't old enough to buy the tape, the cassette tape that shows you how old I am. A little later on after that, it came out on CD, but at that time it was only on tape at the store that I went to because they were like low budget, hand me down places and that's all I could afford. But I still have my Green Day cassette tape, the Dukie one.

32 It's awesome, still got it. Nice, still gotta be be Did you bring it with you so you know that's signed. I'm like afraid of meeting other famous musicians because I'm nothing like them. Maybe if I meet one on the Spectrum one day, we will probably like totally bro down. Are there any others on the Spectrum? Now? You haven't met one? Rightly? A lot of them are very focused on like their art and like the darkness and their persona, and they're like they're artistness. Like it's hard to explain, but they're just really into themselves and like selling it all the time, even when they're walking around, and I just do the exact opposite. I think that is super just for them.

20 I got lucky. I'm exactly like you. I'm a kid who grew up watching rock shows and then me my brother decided to start a rock band and now we're in a band, so like we're not like them, and he plays guitar. Yeah, look, I made it. You can make it, dude. The only reason why I made it is because I didn't quit. Isn't it funny when you look at it that way? Is it almost like I was When you really think about it, It's almost like I was guaranteed to make it because I decided. Oh and everyone else quit on me, by the way, everyone else, but I didn't. Okay, I stayed in there, and guess what, because I didn't, I'm here, so like I was right. I didn't know my destiny. I didn't see the future. I'm not smart enough for that. I just didn't quit.

01 That is so key. I'm a big believer in that, and that's the key. I sang thrash metal when I was a teenager and I quit, So now I'm in radio. You know what. At least you landed strong. Yeah, go because radio is cool. You get to meet cool people. You still get to be involved in music. That's actually pretty sweet, right, can land really terribly? Sometimes exactly? That was a good one, and you land perfectly because look at where you're at now, you're here, welcome to Rockville a Daytona Speedway. Did you drive out on the speedway? Did you take your scooter out of the speedwa from that? That's fun. That's why I was so amped today. And I can tell I could tell that I was more excited than anybody in the crowd. And I think that's the only thing only time in the twenty two years i've been to abandon where that's ever happened where I was more excited than the crowd. You know what I mean. It's because I got to drive my scooter on the Dittona five hundred track. I know, right, I'm still saying, I'm still processing it, you know what I mean. But I did it right before I went on stage, so I was really still processing it up there, and I wanted them to all understand why I was acting with the way I was. Yes, I could tell that they.

01 Could tell, they could tell that you were. Something wrong with me. But it ain't booze. It's a good thing. It's my brain, dude, It's okay, but you know, let us do it. I think it's a good thing because that's why you're here. I think if it were for that, you wouldn't be here. I'm the luckiest guy alive, dude. I love hearing that. Anybody else in my situation, that's for sure, we are alive. See, I love hearing it. And maybe, like I will say, one other group astronauts, all right, they're the luckiest alive. But we're right under that, right, So there you go. So maybe you could be the first rock person on the spectrum to go into space. Okay, Okay, that terrified me. Of course. Why do all the rich people want to do? Remember the submarine? Okay? Sorry, I'm from Middleburgh. Now you know what I like to do to stay on the ground. You know what I did so I don't have to fly this whole year.

58 I bought an RV night so I can drive all year. I am the last human being that will go to space. And how fun they that mankind salvation is to get meat a space we are screwed. I think we're screwed. Anyway, you're gonna send them your away. Dean's cool with it, He'll go. I'll go, yeah, because I want to get away from all the cherk ops here that are here now, okay, there's a lot of them. Yeah. I want to get back to a place where there's like nice people. Yeah. You can do that right by just creating your own crew. That's right. So I say you do now. And that's what you did with your band, with everything you do, and that's key. I think if you don't have to write people on your team, Yeah, I think the team makes all the difference.

39 It raised that I didn't invent, and it's been around a long time. And when I first heard it, I thought it was hockey and arrogant, but I really understand the gravity of it now. It's stick with the winners and what that really means. It's not the people who make money, it's the people who make positive life choices nice. Those are the winners, right. But I didn't know that at twenty. I know it at forty two. Though at least you know it now. Some people never know it. I got lucking, survived a lot of my friends didn't, So. That's what got me through childhood was all positive like motivational stuff and all that. That was my coping skill. Go to a seminar, read a book, listen to tape, and surround myself with the people that are going to bring me where I want to be, opposed to the people that want to hold me down where I am.

21 And never quit. Never And by the way, you also got to rock out to awesome music the whole time. Exactly. It's all good. And you know the same, quitters never win and winners never quit, so you're a winner. People are very annoyed at my persistence. I've been told many times that I shouldn't be where I am, and the only reason why I'm there is because I'm annoyingly persistent. I love sweat it worked, so I don't care what they think. See that, Cole. It's the only way to be I think, especially in this business more than any other business, because you have It's like I always say, it takes twenty years to become an overnight rock star. Look at it this way. That's one hundred percent accurate. First of all, and second of all, you have to you have to like Okay. Usually they want you, right, Usually they find you from scout or whatever I wanted them, which is in reverse nice. So I had to like deconstruct that and figure out how to do it. I did, me and my brother Randy, and here we are. So that's how I that's the weird way I look at the world. If you want to do something, find someone who did it, do you conshocked how they did it?

26 Then you do it and don't quit until it works. Who would you say was your bigger support and biggest supporter when you refuse to quit and you were persistent and everybody thought you should. Definitely Randy my brother. But no one else did actually support me. They'll quit except for one guy, Duke, and then he did quit later, but that was all good. Like he's like a solid guy and he's got a good life and he's like doing his things. But those two guys, Randy Duke, they're the only two that didn't give up on me. Everybody else did. That's two more than most people. Right, that's two solid people, right, So. They how many do we really have? That's all you really need, you really need excuse me, is one? Probably? But I had two there we go.

06 So again, luckiest person on earth because most people don't have to. And also like they served a lot of purposes if they weren't just like my friends. They were my family from Middleburg. Dupe was my best friend from high school, and Rainey's my brother. So I had my family with me. Yeah, even in the beginning. So I think that helped too. I would it. Definitely helps somebody because this is a world that you're alone. A lot of time. You're alone in the world, so it's good to have that support system. And that's why you're here at Welcome to Rockville. Yeah, yeah, we're here together today. Man. My brother's here, his wife, his two kids. We're probably gonna go grill in the RV camp later. When I was up watching your show, I saw your probably your Oh you saw them? Yeah, yeah, I can never see you. I kind of like forget what I'm doing.

47 You're in a zonela. You're up there to remember. I get how that is. I don't know. I always say it's like an ad by experience. Like I'm also a motivational speaker, and once I get up on stage, there's a switch in my brain. Yeah, it's like tunnel vision, and you don only been paid pinch anything else going on? You're in a zone, same experience. What else do you want the listeners to know about that's going on with the band and anything coming out? Oh us, most people just find rock news boring. But we're going to a new record coming out. That's something I'm probably supposed to say. We did sign a record deal. That's a huge thing. That's pretty cool. That's a better noise. They're a great label. Oh I love that, Laye. There's a lot of killer bands on that label. We haven't been signed to a label since twenty ten, first time in fourteen years.

28 How's that feel good? I just I feel like we're old. I'm just cool. People still want to hear music, Like, right on, dude, we'll do it, you know what I mean, Because we're like buying with plenty of the old stuff. We don't care. Some bands have a problem with that. We don't care. We don't actually have to put a new album out like we need. Like Green Day doesn't have to put a new album out. No, they don't. They don't have to. They're always going to be one of the great you know. I mean, so like when they put a record out it's because they felt like it. Yeah, So we're in that stage, and that's really fun because you can just have fun and you're not worried about if people like it or not. You're just having fun. It's almost like the best albums I think, because you're being you. Yeah, you're not making an album for the record label. You're not making it for the oience. You're making it for you and whoever likes it likes it, and that's when you're most authentic musician.

12 I'm having a good time. And we made the record and we turned it in and I was totals coming out this year. But I'm not the boss anymore. I was for a long time. It's really weird not being the boss. It's actually awesome. I'm walking around, sure it open, kicking it back, you know what I mean, you running around trying to do stuff. It's nice. They're great. I appreciate them picking us up on the roster. I love it. You definitely rock. You put on an amazing show here at Welcome to Rockville, and it's always a pleasure to not only see you personally, but see you perform. Because everybody needs to be a follower of Red jumpsuit apparatus because you guys. Rock water's warm. Come come on and jump in. Nice to meet You's good to see you again. Hey, good seeing you and thanks for being on the advenguers, pipe Man.

52 You're welcome. Good luck with the rest of your interviews. All right, Thank you for listening to the Adventures of plate Man on w fur c u I Radio
