Aftershock 2025 Draws Record-Breaking Crowd Of Over 164,000 Fans, The Largest In The Festival’s History

The West Coast’s Ultimate Rock, Punk & Metal Destination 115+ Bands • 4 Unforgettable Days • Fans From Every Corner of the Globe

Danny Wimmer Presents’ record-breaking 2025 festival season concluded October 2–5 with the largest Aftershock in history — drawing over 164,000 fans from all 50 states and more than 30 countries to Sacramento’s Discovery Park, generating an estimated $35 million in local economic impact.

The West Coast’s biggest rock, punk, and metal festival reached new heights in 2025.

Debuting in 2025, Aftershock introduced several new fan-favorite experiences that elevated the festival weekend to new heights. The Capitol Club offered an all-inclusive oasis with premium amenities and elevated views of the main stage, while Tremors Dive Bar kept the energy high with a pop-up set by DJ Rock Feed with surprise guests My Darkest Days, and a special Sunday takeover by Sacramento’s own The Jungle Bird. Fans also discovered spontaneous performances at Beatbox and a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it speakeasy hidden beneath the underpass — each adding to the sense of discovery and excitement that defined this year’s festival.

To celebrate DWP’s cultural and economic impact to the region, Sacramento Mayor Kevin McCarty, Senator Angelique Ashby, and Assemblymember Maggy Krell honored Danny Wimmer Presents with official recognitions from the City of Sacramento, the California State Senate, and the California State Assembly. The proclamation and resolutions celebrate Aftershock’s decade-long legacy, recognizing its profound cultural, economic, and charitable contributions to the Sacramento community and beyond, and highlighting how the festival has firmly established the city as a premier destination for live music in California.

The 2026 dates for Aftershock will be announced in the coming months along with early bird tickets, allowing fans to lock-in lower level pricing and maximum payment plan options. Fans are encouraged to stay tuned to the festival’s official social media channels and AftershockFestival.com.

In addition to music performances, this year’s edition of Aftershock featured various partner onsite activations, award-winning beverages and delectable eats from partners including Animal Place, Astral Tequila, Beatbox Beverages, Black Shades, Blackcraft, Body Art Express, California Army National Guard, Coors Light, Don Julio, Eargasm, Freak On a Leash, Fxck Cancer, Golden State Cider, Hyatt Vacation Club, Jack Daniel's, Jeffree Star Cosmetics, Little Rocker Clothing, Mortus Viventi, Nowhere Fast, Parlor Root Beer, Red Bull, Sierra Nevada, Strüng, Take Me Home, The Pretty Cult, Tito's Handmade Vodka, To Write Love on Her Arms, Topo Chico Hard Seltzer, and Waterloo Sparkling Water.

Aftershock is proud to partner with Visit Sacramento and is produced by Los Angeles-based Danny Wimmer Presents, one of the largest independent producers of destination music festivals in America.

1
00:00:04.360 --> 00:00:17.239
Hi you Lune, Yes, that's true. Why for you you?

2
00:00:20.519 --> 00:00:23.000
This is Pipeman here on the Adventures pipe Man W

3
00:00:23.120 --> 00:00:24.719
four c Y Radio, and I'm here.

4
00:00:24.559 --> 00:00:29.320
With Aaron and Valentino from Mice and Men Nice And

5
00:00:29.399 --> 00:00:32.119
I gotta say it was raining before.

6
00:00:33.240 --> 00:00:34.799
This table was soaking wet.

7
00:00:34.799 --> 00:00:39.039
I had to hide my equipment and then another miracle happened.

8
00:00:39.039 --> 00:00:43.159
And that's why we're talking Blue Skys I though, right,

9
00:00:43.359 --> 00:00:46.399
it must be because you guys are here, okay, and

10
00:00:46.439 --> 00:00:49.759
that new album is badass as fuck.

11
00:00:50.159 --> 00:00:51.759
Thank you, brother, thank you, thank you so much.

12
00:00:52.159 --> 00:00:56.679
So tell us where your creativity went to on that

13
00:00:56.840 --> 00:00:59.000
album Compared to previous albums.

14
00:01:00.119 --> 00:01:02.960
We really wanted to dial up the energy and intensity

15
00:01:02.960 --> 00:01:05.519
a little bit, I think from the previous two, and

16
00:01:05.560 --> 00:01:08.400
then we also wanted to push the melodic side a

17
00:01:08.480 --> 00:01:11.439
little bit further, I think. So it's just sort of,

18
00:01:11.480 --> 00:01:13.239
I think, taking where we were at and just pushing

19
00:01:13.280 --> 00:01:14.359
it all a little bit further.

20
00:01:15.000 --> 00:01:17.439
Yeah, And especially with it being our like ninth album

21
00:01:17.519 --> 00:01:20.920
and everything, it's like super important to not only challenge

22
00:01:20.959 --> 00:01:23.799
ourselves with like the songwriting and stuff, but to be

23
00:01:23.879 --> 00:01:26.760
able to like write music that excites us. And that

24
00:01:26.920 --> 00:01:28.640
was really what we set out to do, and so

25
00:01:28.719 --> 00:01:30.879
far we've been releasing some music and the fans are

26
00:01:30.879 --> 00:01:31.920
super excited about it.

27
00:01:32.200 --> 00:01:34.920
So there's just so much more awesome music to come.

28
00:01:35.239 --> 00:01:38.040
And it feels good that we're able to write and

29
00:01:38.120 --> 00:01:41.280
release music that resonates with our fans still. And there's

30
00:01:41.319 --> 00:01:43.680
so many new fans for the band too, especially at

31
00:01:43.760 --> 00:01:46.079
these festivals, Like some of these festivals are some of

32
00:01:46.079 --> 00:01:49.319
the some of people's first time seeing the band, right,

33
00:01:49.480 --> 00:01:51.719
It's like it's really cool to have that moment and

34
00:01:51.719 --> 00:01:52.920
share that moment with everybody.

35
00:01:53.000 --> 00:01:56.200
And I think too, like after doing that many albums,

36
00:01:56.840 --> 00:01:58.640
I don't know, I just think it's like harder and

37
00:01:58.719 --> 00:02:02.879
harder to outdo your and keep your core right. See

38
00:02:02.920 --> 00:02:05.840
that's the balancing trick. And so from what you're saying,

39
00:02:05.959 --> 00:02:09.800
sounds to me that another miracle like hit that right

40
00:02:09.840 --> 00:02:10.360
on the head.

41
00:02:10.560 --> 00:02:11.400
Yeah, we tried to.

42
00:02:11.599 --> 00:02:15.000
I mean, honestly, for us, it's sort of about managing

43
00:02:15.080 --> 00:02:18.919
the energetic side of music that isn't necessarily what you're hearing,

44
00:02:18.960 --> 00:02:21.960
but what you're feeling, and then also managing what you're

45
00:02:21.960 --> 00:02:25.240
hearing and trying to push the envelope a little bit

46
00:02:25.319 --> 00:02:29.120
with both, and then also sometimes just settling into what

47
00:02:29.159 --> 00:02:32.000
we feel like we know our sound to be in

48
00:02:32.039 --> 00:02:33.840
a way, which for us on our ninth record, I

49
00:02:33.840 --> 00:02:34.960
don't think is a bad thing.

50
00:02:35.159 --> 00:02:37.479
Well, the way I kind of look at it is

51
00:02:37.479 --> 00:02:40.560
is it takes sometimes that long to really find your

52
00:02:40.599 --> 00:02:44.400
sound because in the beginning, there's like one mindset, and

53
00:02:44.479 --> 00:02:48.479
as you're perfecting and getting better and different things happen

54
00:02:48.520 --> 00:02:52.199
in your life, I think you evolve into what truly

55
00:02:52.439 --> 00:02:55.000
was gonna be your sound, but not in the beginning.

56
00:02:55.680 --> 00:02:57.479
Yeah, And it's also hard to say because I feel

57
00:02:57.479 --> 00:03:00.000
like for a band like us, our sound probably chain

58
00:03:00.039 --> 00:03:03.080
changes every record to some degree or another. And I

59
00:03:03.120 --> 00:03:06.879
think for us, maintaining that energy means we don't need

60
00:03:06.960 --> 00:03:10.439
to be so concerned with the sound changing as much.

61
00:03:10.479 --> 00:03:12.479
As long as the energy is there, then it will

62
00:03:12.520 --> 00:03:15.639
feel coherent and cohesive to the audience.

63
00:03:15.479 --> 00:03:15.960
No doubt.

64
00:03:16.000 --> 00:03:18.639
And we're fans of heavy music too, so like as

65
00:03:18.800 --> 00:03:21.639
the genre evolves, we kind of evolve with it. We

66
00:03:21.800 --> 00:03:24.039
like a lot of the bands that are popping off

67
00:03:24.120 --> 00:03:26.960
right now, and all the bands, like the legacy bands

68
00:03:26.960 --> 00:03:29.280
and legendary bands and everything, like we grew up listening

69
00:03:29.280 --> 00:03:32.520
to this, so like to now be sixteen years deep

70
00:03:32.560 --> 00:03:36.199
as a band and writing music. We're still writing from

71
00:03:36.400 --> 00:03:38.599
stuff that inspires us, and a lot of what inspires

72
00:03:38.680 --> 00:03:41.039
us is new music. A lot of it isn't even metal,

73
00:03:41.319 --> 00:03:44.000
but like we do love metal music and we love

74
00:03:44.039 --> 00:03:46.280
heavy music, and it's an integral part of our sound

75
00:03:46.280 --> 00:03:48.479
that we're never going to abandon, you know what I mean.

76
00:03:48.520 --> 00:03:51.479
And so from us, it's like, how do we inject

77
00:03:51.479 --> 00:03:54.800
our like fan excitement into our own music to then

78
00:03:55.199 --> 00:03:58.280
do something that like could resonate with our audience a

79
00:03:58.280 --> 00:04:00.520
little bit more or something like that. So that's why

80
00:04:00.560 --> 00:04:03.840
we're always kind of like developing and maybe changing a

81
00:04:03.840 --> 00:04:06.080
little bit and trying some things that people might be like, well,

82
00:04:06.080 --> 00:04:07.560
what's that And it's like, well, I don't know, man,

83
00:04:07.560 --> 00:04:10.439
We're on a ninth album, Like what are you doing you?

84
00:04:10.479 --> 00:04:11.080
You know what I mean?

85
00:04:11.120 --> 00:04:13.000
Like, so we're just kind of having fun with it.

86
00:04:13.039 --> 00:04:17.240
And first and foremost we're musicians, So like as musicians,

87
00:04:17.319 --> 00:04:20.199
we always want to challenge ourselves and elevate our performances

88
00:04:20.240 --> 00:04:22.600
and stuff like that, and you can't always do that,

89
00:04:22.720 --> 00:04:24.800
like writing the same song over and over again, so

90
00:04:24.959 --> 00:04:27.360
we kind of like write different stuff and have fun

91
00:04:27.360 --> 00:04:30.160
with it and kind of take some risks and have

92
00:04:30.199 --> 00:04:30.680
fun with it.

93
00:04:30.800 --> 00:04:34.240
I think a real musician experiments, and which is what

94
00:04:34.279 --> 00:04:36.639
you're doing. It's like, yeah, you don't want to stick

95
00:04:36.720 --> 00:04:38.800
like you said one, So why would you want to

96
00:04:38.839 --> 00:04:41.439
perform the same song over and over again? Write the

97
00:04:41.480 --> 00:04:44.199
same song over and over again? Then it's not exciting

98
00:04:44.240 --> 00:04:46.319
for you as it's supposed to be exciting for us.

99
00:04:46.439 --> 00:04:48.519
Well, who's the same person they were five years ago,

100
00:04:49.160 --> 00:04:52.639
ten years ago? And these albums are chapters in our life.

101
00:04:52.680 --> 00:04:54.720
Each one is a book with the chapters of the

102
00:04:54.759 --> 00:04:57.480
songs and stuff like that, and mice of men like

103
00:04:57.519 --> 00:05:00.600
we write about the human experience, the good and the bad,

104
00:05:00.680 --> 00:05:03.199
and the hard and the easy and the just every

105
00:05:03.279 --> 00:05:07.199
kind of side of this multifaceted crazy thing that is

106
00:05:07.240 --> 00:05:10.160
being a human. And I think with all those different

107
00:05:10.240 --> 00:05:13.639
kinds of feelings and experiences, we're just trying to share

108
00:05:13.680 --> 00:05:16.199
our own with everyone else. And I think that really

109
00:05:16.319 --> 00:05:19.279
will always connect with the person that needs to hear it.

110
00:05:19.279 --> 00:05:21.319
That's the only person we care about, the person that

111
00:05:21.399 --> 00:05:22.920
needs to hear that song that it clicks with.

112
00:05:23.000 --> 00:05:23.199
You know.

113
00:05:23.480 --> 00:05:25.879
There you go, And how does it feel to be

114
00:05:25.879 --> 00:05:29.199
a Aftershock? Eight years later? It's about eight years since

115
00:05:29.199 --> 00:05:30.519
he played after Shock.

116
00:05:30.360 --> 00:05:32.120
It's nice and the weather's really nice.

117
00:05:32.360 --> 00:05:33.079
Sent me a great day.

118
00:05:33.120 --> 00:05:35.759
Well now that we had another miracle and the rain

119
00:05:35.800 --> 00:05:37.279
went away thanks to you guys.

120
00:05:37.439 --> 00:05:39.360
Yeah, it's awesome, dude. These festivals are sick.

121
00:05:39.439 --> 00:05:42.639
Danny Wimmer brings together the best bands, really takes care

122
00:05:42.680 --> 00:05:45.079
of the fans, and we've got a bunch of family

123
00:05:45.120 --> 00:05:48.199
and friends here today. So today's a special day. Today's

124
00:05:48.240 --> 00:05:49.439
an iconic aftershock.

125
00:05:49.560 --> 00:05:50.160
For sure.

126
00:05:50.600 --> 00:05:51.279
I love it.

127
00:05:51.319 --> 00:05:53.680
And not only that, but from what I hear of

128
00:05:53.839 --> 00:05:57.319
at from every yard since Danny Wimmer really takes care

129
00:05:57.360 --> 00:06:00.800
of the artists. Yeah, oh yeah, So tell us how

130
00:06:00.920 --> 00:06:04.519
you love doing Danny Wimmer festivals as being treated as

131
00:06:04.560 --> 00:06:05.040
an artist.

132
00:06:05.959 --> 00:06:11.319
I mean everything from the accommodations to logistics for our

133
00:06:11.399 --> 00:06:13.600
crew and making sure that they're taken care of on

134
00:06:13.839 --> 00:06:16.480
the technical side of things. It's just really well ran.

135
00:06:16.800 --> 00:06:17.959
So we're very appreciative.

136
00:06:18.079 --> 00:06:20.879
Yeah, Now to mention the attention he gives to the

137
00:06:20.920 --> 00:06:23.240
fans out there, the fact that he's able to put

138
00:06:23.240 --> 00:06:26.120
together festivals that bring hundreds of thousands of people together,

139
00:06:26.240 --> 00:06:29.759
that's seriously like what even goes into that, And the

140
00:06:29.759 --> 00:06:32.199
fact that all these people can come and be a

141
00:06:32.240 --> 00:06:35.839
community and be safe and have fun and enjoy the music.

142
00:06:35.959 --> 00:06:38.000
Is that's what this is all about, really, And so

143
00:06:38.079 --> 00:06:42.439
to have a champion of alternative music like him, bringing

144
00:06:42.480 --> 00:06:45.680
all these bands together, bringing the fans together, is truly

145
00:06:45.720 --> 00:06:48.319
something special. And the fact that of Meisa Men gets

146
00:06:48.319 --> 00:06:50.160
to be a part of it is seriously something we

147
00:06:50.199 --> 00:06:52.800
are so grateful for and it's such a privilege and

148
00:06:52.959 --> 00:06:54.720
we don't take it for granted. You know, we're gonna,

149
00:06:55.160 --> 00:06:58.240
we're gonna we're gonna break it down on stage. We're

150
00:06:58.279 --> 00:07:00.839
gonna kill it. We gotta do it, and it's gonna

151
00:07:00.879 --> 00:07:01.680
be so fun, man.

152
00:07:01.839 --> 00:07:02.439
We can't wait.

153
00:07:02.560 --> 00:07:05.199
That's keyword fun. Yeah, Like if you're not having fun,

154
00:07:05.240 --> 00:07:07.480
we're not having fun. And we can tell when we

155
00:07:07.519 --> 00:07:10.120
look up there and I watch you guys, it's like, fuck,

156
00:07:10.120 --> 00:07:12.720
they're just having the time in their life man, which

157
00:07:12.759 --> 00:07:14.720
means I'm gonna go out there and have the time

158
00:07:14.759 --> 00:07:15.519
on my list.

159
00:07:15.519 --> 00:07:19.639
Today Aaron's first time dad here, Oh okay, brought his

160
00:07:19.839 --> 00:07:22.439
daughter to her first show today, that first concert.

161
00:07:22.600 --> 00:07:23.319
I love it.

162
00:07:23.439 --> 00:07:27.639
Congrats, thank you, Conic Aftershock moments nice.

163
00:07:27.959 --> 00:07:31.439
That's a beautiful thing about these festivals too. I find

164
00:07:31.519 --> 00:07:39.160
it's like you do have grandfathers, fathers mothers, grandmothers, kids likes.

165
00:07:39.360 --> 00:07:41.199
It's rational, dude.

166
00:07:41.000 --> 00:07:42.360
It's wild, right, it's crazy.

167
00:07:42.439 --> 00:07:45.879
Like I've brought my kids and my grandkids and tamash

168
00:07:45.959 --> 00:07:47.439
pits at Danny Wimmer Festival.

169
00:07:47.480 --> 00:07:48.639
That's so amazing, dude.

170
00:07:48.759 --> 00:07:50.360
It's the way it should be, right, Yeah.

171
00:07:50.199 --> 00:07:53.560
Man, it's just beautiful. Man. We're so privileged and it's

172
00:07:53.639 --> 00:07:54.720
so awesome to be a part of this.

173
00:07:55.279 --> 00:07:58.199
What's your favorite Danny Wimmer Festival? If you have one,

174
00:07:59.800 --> 00:08:01.319
I can't pick one.

175
00:08:01.399 --> 00:08:04.000
I mean, we're at after Shock today, so it's after Shock.

176
00:08:04.079 --> 00:08:05.199
Maybe the right answer?

177
00:08:05.439 --> 00:08:06.600
One of them, every one of them.

178
00:08:06.759 --> 00:08:09.519
It's a bait answer, yeah, course, and you took the

179
00:08:09.560 --> 00:08:10.240
bait for sure.

180
00:08:10.279 --> 00:08:13.120
Of course, dude. We're here at Aftershock, man. Sacramento loves

181
00:08:13.120 --> 00:08:14.600
to rock. That's something I've learned.

182
00:08:14.959 --> 00:08:16.199
Oh, they do totally.

183
00:08:16.199 --> 00:08:18.560
And it's badass man. Like, we love that energy.

184
00:08:18.639 --> 00:08:20.720
So we can't wait to give that energy back to

185
00:08:20.759 --> 00:08:22.920
the audience and have it just we're gonna we're gonna

186
00:08:22.920 --> 00:08:25.480
play volleyball for forty five minutes today.

187
00:08:25.639 --> 00:08:26.680
That's hope already.

188
00:08:27.079 --> 00:08:29.680
And that's why you guys are always on Wimmer festivals

189
00:08:29.680 --> 00:08:31.199
because you bring it every time.

190
00:08:31.279 --> 00:08:33.559
Thank you so much. We love it man, is.

191
00:08:33.519 --> 00:08:35.600
There anything else going on that you want to tell

192
00:08:35.600 --> 00:08:37.480
the listeners about that we haven't covered yet.

193
00:08:39.120 --> 00:08:42.639
Another miracle drops November fourteenth, Pick it up. That's on

194
00:08:42.720 --> 00:08:46.480
Century Media. We got tour dates right now. We're doing

195
00:08:46.519 --> 00:08:49.519
Warp Tour in November. We've got a European UK tour

196
00:08:49.919 --> 00:08:53.240
November December, and we're locking in stuff for next year,

197
00:08:53.320 --> 00:08:55.360
so keep it locked on our social media at of

198
00:08:55.399 --> 00:08:59.279
mice and men. Check our website of micee tickets dot

199
00:08:59.320 --> 00:09:02.080
com for up to tickets. And we just dropped a

200
00:09:02.120 --> 00:09:07.200
sick fan community called mice Space. I wasn talk, So

201
00:09:07.240 --> 00:09:08.879
it's kind of like a fan club, but it's more

202
00:09:08.879 --> 00:09:11.440
of like a I don't know, it's more just like

203
00:09:11.440 --> 00:09:15.360
a community online like message board, chat room. We're uploading

204
00:09:15.399 --> 00:09:18.919
old demos, we're uploading a studio documentary, we upload like

205
00:09:18.960 --> 00:09:21.679
backstage footage of us. It's just kind of it's for

206
00:09:21.720 --> 00:09:23.879
the fans that like that stuff, because we're fans that

207
00:09:24.000 --> 00:09:25.919
like that stuff. So we wish all of our favorite

208
00:09:25.960 --> 00:09:28.120
bands did that so we could kind of see behind

209
00:09:28.120 --> 00:09:30.519
the veil a little bit. So we really wanted to

210
00:09:30.200 --> 00:09:32.639
do something special like that for our fans.

211
00:09:33.039 --> 00:09:35.799
So check it out. It's mice space, I know.

212
00:09:36.360 --> 00:09:40.000
Yeah, And when I was looking at the description in

213
00:09:40.039 --> 00:09:42.120
the way, I thought it as it's your way of

214
00:09:42.159 --> 00:09:43.480
giving back to the fans.

215
00:09:43.679 --> 00:09:44.279
Yeah, of course.

216
00:09:44.320 --> 00:09:46.639
I mean, dude, we've been a band for sixteen years,

217
00:09:46.679 --> 00:09:50.360
so the treasure trove is full of vintage gems and

218
00:09:50.399 --> 00:09:52.480
all kinds of stuff. We've been all over the world

219
00:09:52.559 --> 00:09:55.360
a million times, We've written a million songs. We got

220
00:09:55.399 --> 00:09:57.240
tons of demos that have never been released that we're

221
00:09:57.240 --> 00:10:00.399
putting up there, tons of video content, tons of photos.

222
00:10:00.480 --> 00:10:03.279
Like it's just something that if you like that kind

223
00:10:03.279 --> 00:10:05.200
of stuff, sign up. If not, it's all good. You

224
00:10:05.200 --> 00:10:08.279
don't have to like. It's just something fun for us,

225
00:10:08.360 --> 00:10:11.120
and hopefully it's fun for the fans too if that's

226
00:10:11.120 --> 00:10:12.120
something you're into.

227
00:10:12.000 --> 00:10:13.200
So check it out.

228
00:10:13.799 --> 00:10:16.879
Well, I definitely think everybody should check it out. Get

229
00:10:16.879 --> 00:10:19.000
the new album because it's your best one yet.

230
00:10:19.159 --> 00:10:20.200
Thank you so much, and.

231
00:10:21.480 --> 00:10:24.320
I'm looking forward to some fun here at Aftershock with

232
00:10:24.399 --> 00:10:25.159
of myice and men.

233
00:10:25.360 --> 00:10:26.279
Yeah, excellent.

234
00:10:26.679 --> 00:10:28.960
Thanks for being on the adventures, Thank you for having us.

235
00:10:28.919 --> 00:10:29.679
And thank you so much.
