I was talking about that with coc Like, yeah, you got to evolve, Like of course you're real. Core fans never want you to because they want you to stay their band, you know. But as a musician, as an artist, you want to experiment. You want to do different things. Otherwise, like Ali from Bringing the Horizon is like why do I want to write the same album over again? Boring?

3:22 You want to be Everything is a progression of like ourselves and like asas people are constantly changing, just like you as a person's constantly changing totally, and like some things will say the same, like maybe I'll always have red hair, but maybe I won't, and like it doesn't matter because it's always going to be me, and it's just been me and a new version of me. It's constantly changing. And I never want to feel like I'm rinsing and repeating the same thing just because it. Works one time, exactly. I want to do something new every single time, and do you know what, if you want to do something new, just do it. But they're absolutely all put everything into it and it's going to work. And I think too as an artist that and you're probably learning this is you have to do what makes you happy because if you make the audience happy as your goal, you're never going to make them all happy.

4:15 No, you can't. Can't impress anyone. And when you do yourself, you attract your tribe. Yeah, you know, you're right, and that's how you last, because if you're trying to do it for other people, you don't last as an artist. You know. It'll work for a little while, yeh, but then it'll fiz all off and listen, you know. I think it's cool when an artist has something different to bring to the table every time because it makes me want to see your new stuff, listen to your new stuff. Otherwise I can just stay listening to the first. Album exactly, expect the unexpected exactly, and you never know if you're going to love it or hate it, but you're gonna want to find out. And even if you hate it, you love the phone saying you hated the second thing, you might love the third thing, and you just you want to find out. And as a fan of like music myself, when an artist is something new, I love it and then sometimes I might learn that I hate it, but I end up loving it because they did it.

Like Metallica is a perfect example. Everybody jokes about saying anger. Even Hatfield on stage, he jokes about it that, you know, because everybody thinks it's their worst album ever. Yeah. Yeah, but they're bigger than they ever were now after that album anyway, no matter how much hate they got exactly, So who cares? Yeah, and they're happy. And if you worry about the hate, especially today with social media, then you might as well give it up because everybody's gonna hate you. You're going to do something, Yeah.

I can look at this jacket and I feel like I learned so much about you. See there you go. That's very cool and you know what's wild. Like I was interviewing coc earlier, and we were talking about the gatekeeping back then. You know, if you were if you were into punk, like if you were along here, you couldn't go to a punk show, if you were a punk, you couldn't go to a metal show exactly. And I saw them at the first crossover show ever that had no security, nothing, and it was insane. But they looked at the vest and they're like, you got it. You know, they could see I had both the punk and the medal in me. Even if we were in those gatekeeping times. Yeah, you know. And that's what's beautiful about today, I think is there's still some gatekeepers, but not like it used to be. We can be here at download and be one big, happy family. Yeah, all the outsiders are on the inside, and there are no outsiders.

8:39 Here exactly, you know. And you know what like even bringing people who have never been, there's downloaded such like a welcoming place. So this year I brought my boyfriend. He's never been to a festival and his whole life never not even a day festival. Wow. The only band he's seen live is Jarelesson Lady Guard. So he is to us an outsider already. Everyone is like talking to him, welcoming him, and like he just like he's having the best time ever and in. That's what I love about this community is from the outside, maybe it seems so like gatekeepery and no one can come in, but when you get in, you're in exactly.

I have a story like that too, because I had to cover two festivals in one weekend one time, so I took somebody to work for me. She was a country girl. I've never been to a rock show in her life, Yeah, and I had her go to it. I prepped her at the time. I'm like, you're gonna have the best time of your life. I'm like, you're used to go to these country shows where the rednecks are getting drunk and getting into fights. Yeah, okay, but yet you think we're dangerous because we have marsh pits exactly. You're gonna see. You're gonna go there and we're like one big family. You're gonna make a bunch of new friends, you might find a new boyfriend, and blah blah, blah blah.

And then she goes and I have this new favorite band. I don't know if you know who the Harder are called bring me the Horizon. And you're like, who's that? Sorry? Right? I love that. It's amazing. And I think that's what you find out is like if they would stop being so scared and judgy, Yeah, come to this and they'll see what we're really all about. One hundred and this is like where all the nicest people are. This way, you make friends for life, and you may never see them. You may only see them at downloads, right, but they're like your best friends the whole weekends, no doubt and there's no like second guessing it.

I always tell people like, because they talk about me going on tour and doing the festivals, I'm like, that's where all my friends are. No, yeah, literally literally, because like my boyfriend's only ever been to one back show, so he's never seen me like in my element. And I was like, God, just wait, you won't even get to talk to me all weekend. I'm going to see so many people I know. He's like, but you've only got one friend. I'm like, no, I have so many friends. They're just all in this one place that only happens once a year. And now he's seeing it. Yeah, and he's like what right, you know? And it is cool. Downloads a great place. I love. I love the UK too, like like I do Bloodstock too and amazing. You know, if it weren't for the bipolar weather here, I probably would escape my insane country and come here. Yeah.

11:39 Used to weather. It really puts me off as well. Today it's like raining and it's cold and it winning and it's so sunny. I'm sweating, and then it's the wind's back and it's raining again. It's always like that for me. It's like one interview, I'm wearing a hoodie, the next interview, I'm taking it off. No consistency, say it back on, take it off. I'm like, I have to pack like for winter and summer when I come here. Yeah. No, I feel that literally every time. I'm like, my bag is so full, So I don't know what to bring exactly. So anything else you want to share with the litters before we go. So I've got a headline show in London the first August. We're playing a tattoo convention. I've never done that before, but I think it'll be fun.
