That's my last interview because there is like, you know, when you do all these festivals, there's only a few bands that you're like, I have to see that. There's other bands, Okay, Like I've seen them like fifty times, right, I'm cool you guys are definitely one of them. Appreciation, and I've seen you a lot of times, but I saw you guys recently. I can't remember because they all melt together. Yeah Louder or something louder. Yeah, man, you guys are better than fucking I mean the energy up there on stage, Like you always had energy, okay, but now you have a crew that matches you in the energy and particular. Like I believe that this crew everyone has their own special thing. It's like like like the special moves in moral combat. Yeah, it's got their own like fatality. Everybody got their own fatality here there you go finish Yeah yeah yeah yeah. And uh so he plans to get in trouble climbing up on the sound thing or what it sounds like it They already spoke to our crew about it. Yeah, yeah, so I guess we'll just see. I think it was Louder that I was watching the gold because I've always watched him like, oh he's crazy, but like it was okay. But I saw you hanging off. I'm like, yeah, oh

2:51 that one was about to felt like it was gonna fall. I was looking at not good, and that's why I was hanging so tightly onto everything right around me. Yet if it were hot as this man, like you get sweaty because you were just one hand in that shait, I'd be like, yeah, I knocked my teeth out doing a stage dive off a Marshall stack. I wouldn't do what you do, yeah, because the crowd wouldn't catch you. Yeah. Oh man. So how do you guys feel that Fever three three three has evolved now with how you are now and how the music has progressed even more and everything else. I mean, I personally feel like there's just a sense I say it every time, it's the funk, right, Like that's what I was looking for for this iteration, this and this evolution, and I got it with this group. So I mean, I think that the essence. And also, if I may, I think that we're able to offer a whole new type of representation. Having a beautiful black queen in the band I was one of the first things I saw when I saw you guys on stage, because you've always had the diversity on stage, but that was the missing and I really really that was that was obviously a conscious effort, but to find April. If I may just sing her out real quick. To find April was just like it was like cosmic. It was you know, my homie had told me about her and then I had already like saved some of the videos, being like I need someone like this in the band, and then they was like just hit her up. And so I mean, for me, that on top of me being friends with Brandon for years, admiring him, seeing him as another brother in the space,

4:24 and being like you get it on a whole level that I think is missing from a lot of just performers in general. I think that he really really gives himself to performance in a way that I think is I don't know, just beautiful and necessary. And then Thomas Bridge and is literally I stopped him in practice the other day and said, look, you are bad as hell. Like he's just been one of my favorite rummers since I was like just at high school, you know what I'm saying to and everything from everything he's done too and from the gospel shit to the rock shit to everything in between. So I'm blast, that's key right there, I think Cuz if you only know one genre, I think you're pretty limited as a musician. Yeah, it doesn't mean you have to play those other genres. But those other influences make you unique, and that's what makes you long lasting, right and this right, you know, and why should you be one way?

5:11 Right? You know, we all have multiple influences. Who are the gatekeepers that said you can't include those influences? You know what you have to say about that? Since he was just talking about I think, you know, I think it adds a lot of sparkle to like everything, especially in the rock world, because it has been so one dimensional in the past that I think having people who are inspired by different genres and you know, people are just inspired by different things period, you know what I mean. I think that's just has just made the whole the genre grow, you know, as you know, in in more than musical, you know, even backstage I have to tell people, I'm like, it's actually more chill backstage than it is at certain R and B concerts, right, right, I think everyone is grown with each other and like this metal family we have here, like it's just a big family. There's no outsiders, there's no you're this, you're that, It's like Whoever's who? And then even like nowadays, like I come from the time with the gatekeepers. Like I was into punk and metal. I can go to punk shows. I had long hair, you got your ass kicked. If you had long hair going punk shows. If you're a punk on metal show, you got your ass kicked. I always thought it was stupid, like, come on, similar music. Why would it be like that. We were both getting our asses kicked by the jocks in school, band together. And I think that's what's happening to music now when we have these Danny Wimmer festivals and you have guys like Tech nine and

6:43 Run the Jewels and all those people amongst a slipknot and people love it, like man, metal heads absolutely love Tech nine. That's an example. You know. It just shows how we've grown as human beings and music, at least the outsol world. I don't know so much, but at least we can start here and spread the word for the rest of the world of how human beings should act. And I know you're all about that. Let's talk to you for a second, because when I saw you up there, he's right, you were badass. What do you think when he was talking about like that? Because you know, it's nice to be a band where the other band members actually think you're the shit right. Yeah, it's phenomenal.

7:30 I mean, I appreciate what you said, actually calling out Jason on the mic about not having a woman before, because that's one of the things that really connected me to Jason at first. After our first jam it was just me, Thomas and Jason. He was waiting with me for my car and we were talking about that and he was like, I feel like you got to say it's straight up and that is what I feel like we do on stage, both in terms of the lyrics, the words that Jason delivers, and also our presence and the way that we challenge ourselves, challenge the audience, challenge our team with our performances and with our dedication, with our ambition to grow something bigger than what we are. So I just wanted to kind of give you your little bo props for that. You need more in the space and the people with platforms I can do that the better. And that's definitely what I try to do on data and how can you make positive change like the stuff that your lyrics tell the world without walking the talk, you know, like and walking the talk is having the diversity and showing the world this is how it should be, and look at how well it works.

8:39 That's the other part of it, because we're all brainwashed it that wouldn't work. Well. What what is society doing now, dividing us and doing it on purpose? We can't let them. We need bands like you and all of us to not let them. That's my key. And I also just think that it's I want to be like, I'm gonna take let's take off the rose colored glasses and understand that any revolution, any movement, any any renaissance has been precipitated by art. But art that was had casualties, Like you're going to it's gonna hurt, Like, let's just keep it super real. Like I don't want people to think that I'm like, how here talking about kumbayas shit, Like I really believe that it's difficult and it hurts, and you're gonna lose and sacrifice a lot of things. But I believe that real change and true altruism is planting trees that you will never sit under, you know. I think that that's really really important to understand. And and you're gonna, like I said, the sacrifice, if it's worth it to you, it will benefit someone perhaps when you are not here, but knowing that hopefully is enough for some people, you know, and I think change and getting hurt is required for what we really want down the road. And even you as a band, perfect example, you could take it one in two ways. Oh well, changed up the band blah blah blah blah blah, or you could take it up. It's an evolution to make things better

10:11 and to keep on that same road of the message that's required. What do you want add to conversation? Well, I mean specifically what you said about, like, you know, the possibility of people being like, oh you change the band whatever whatever, shockingly like, I feel like the reception from people has been like extremely well like, which I mean, all right, It's like it's like and uh, you know that's, to be honest, is not normal because people in general tend to be afraid of change, or you know, they they identify something being a certain way and to them they're like, no, what, like this is the way that I saw it first, and this is the way it needs to stay. You know.

11:00 Even with albums, you know, a band writes a new album and it's the same guys, and like all this sounds different than the last album. I'm upset, right, but for some reason, like you know, this evolution happened, and like I've seen like you know, just mostly people being excited about it, which is a really pleasant surprise because you know, being you know, one of the new members, you know, and you're filling big shoes. You know. The band prior to us was amazing, you know, so like stepping in to like be there, it's just like you're like, oh, people gonna like not accept it because it's not what it was, And that's like totally didn't happen. Like, yeah, I love hearing that because a lot of times that is what happened, absolutely, you know. And but I can tell you myself, who's saw the previous version many times and saw this version. First of all, the reason people don't like changing bands and say, think it's not gonna be the same band anymore.

11:54 I still saw the same band but better. That's the difference. It wasn't like you became this different band. Jason still Jason, you know, the show is still high energy, high fun all that. The message is still the same, but now again with her stronger, Because how can we even preach togetherness and no hate without including everybody that totally is hated or downplayed or kept down or whatever it is. And so I think you finally got the recipe. Yeah. And lastly, lastly, I just want to say, I want to make it very clear that this is very much a POC specifically black and mixed band, Like that's what we are, Like I don't want to I just like I feel like dancing around it in music in general is this is a is a is a pr move for some strange reason that doesn't need to happen. Like I am so proud, and I'm just speaking for me. I'm so proud to have like black people playing rock music on stage of me. I'm so proud. I'm so proud to have a woman, a black woman on stage of me. I'm so I'm so happy to have that queer representation on stage with us. Like I'm so thankful for this arrangement that I've been blessed with. So probably I just want to say thank y'all. Thank you, thank you, April, thank you Brandan, thank you Thomas. For real, it's I thank you. Because like I've eight grandkids, one that's non binary, one that's non binary, one that's gay,

The kids don't know it to us, asshole. So I'd rather them grow up in a world where maybe we have a hope of not having that anymore. That's why we're playing the trees now so they can sit under them.
