See that's why I like to do it that way, because you guys say it much better than I did. Here we are a download. How fucking killer is at my dice room? Download? Oh my god. So I'm pretty bummed out because I was gonna come here on Wednesday and Thursday and I looked at the rain and I'm like, fuck, I don't have any interviews. I don't want to deal with the rain.

0:51 But then I heard I missed a fucking awesome set that you guys did. Like I'll tell you what. We had a van and effything. You could have stayed boss, right. You tell me? Oh my god, I heard you tore this place up. Oh it was We are on Cloud nine. It was nuts. We had like the first circle pit of Download. It was crazy, the Piro, the people, it was just the best thirty minutes of our lives. I love that. It's crazy. So what other festivals have you played besides Download?

1:32 So we've played Cool of the Wild Festival. We also did Bloodstock, we did the Yaeger stage Uprising Rocks off. I'm trying to think of any more off the top of my head. They're the most recent ones anyway. Yeah, and we were just talking about, you know that we met at Bloodstock, Yes, you know, and so this is a dangerous question, but how would you compare download Bloodstock? So far, I can do that. I think Bloodstock is a festival, thank you very much, dom Smith, ladies and gentlemen. Download is a festival for kind.

2:14 You've got more of a variation of music here, yeah, whereas Bloodstock is quintessentially a metal festival. And I think Bloodstock's what twenty five thousand something like that. You're right on the money, and it's more than a hundred plus. Yeah, Well there you go. I mean I like Bloodstock personally because it's a bit more intimate. But that's not to say that I prefer it over this, or that I prefer this over that. It's just different. Yeah, exactly. Yeah, I love both of them. And it's funny what you said because Vicky I saw her on a Instagram post because somebody ask if they're gonna turn Bloodstock into download and she said absolutely fucking not like and she explained it kind of the way you did. It's like, we're just a metal festival. We're always going to be just a metal festival. We're twenty five thousand, We're happy to be there. Download's great, they do over one hundred thousand, they do it great, but we're a family festival. We're going to keep it that way. So the way I look at it is they're both freaking amazing for different reasons.

3:22 I mean, I love both and as a band, we love both festivals, and they've both both been so accommodating to us as well when we've actually played. I totally agree with you. They're great for such different reasons. Right, And which is cool because why you want to go to the same festival. Yeah, you know, it doesn't make sense. You know, if you're gonna go at different festivals, it should be different. Yeah, different vibe, different everything. One of the things I love about Bloodstock is I don't have to walk for it all the fucking stages. Like I think about having to go see a set on the other side of Download after I just saw it set here and then having to come back here, I'm like, that's a lot of work.

4:05 Yeah, we we were quite interested in naturally pinching one of the little buggies you know that you see them buzzing around it Download. We were like, should we get one of them? Right? No, one's looking right right. Oh. You know what happened last year at Download Airborne. Okay, they're the funniest fuckers ever. Okay, they stole a golf cart that didn't even have the key in it to do an interview and they had their their crew pushing the golf cart while they were doing the interview. It was fuck it was the funniest shit ever. And of course they would be the one to do that really good. Just let them break off, go yeah exactly. So there you go. Now I gave you an idea, but you didn't hear it from me.

4:48 Yeah. Yeah. Setting the stone now for next. Year, I know. And then you could like just cruise the campground too, like maybe maybe set up and play in the golf cart going through the camp ground. We could actually have our own lot of trailer attached with a drum kit on the back. Right. Well, you know what's funny about that? Silly Goose played yesterday and I was there for the start of their career where they you know, Danny Wimmer festivals in the States are the big ones. They crashed one of the festivals. They they go on this tour like old school punk bands, and they just show up places subways, gas stations, fast food restaurants and just start playing legends.

5:36 So they showed up to this festival and they parked it in the parking lot, and Danny Wimmer actually came out there and was sitting there watching them. They played a real stage the next day. He put them on stage the next day, and then yesterday they played Download what Legends? Right, Legends expect the game. That's the way to do it, man, you know, and that's where you always used to be. So like maybe there's some ideas. They're just throwing it out there. Keep it on board this show and listen back to it.

Well, we do have the final to Metal to the Masses coming up on the twentieth, so hopefully we'll see you at Bloods Talk, Oh I hope. So yeah, So, I mean that's the one that we're next. We're gunning for that and then you know, hopefully we can destroy the rest of the world, go on every single festival there is. Yeah, you need, you need to come do all the US festivals. Oh, we'd love to. We'd love to again. A lot of it is to do with money, you know. And that visus. Yeah, And I think people don't realize that when they're like, why doesn't this band come here?

6:57 It's not that easy. It's easy said and done. No doubt. And like that's why I like to talk about because like, don't give hate to the band. They want to go there. You want to go everywhere, you know, but like you said, cost a lot of money. But then the visa is a major problem exactly. Like there's so many bands that are on lineups that don't end up going because the visa doesn't get approved, you know, and that sucks. Yeah, you know, we. Would love to go in every single country, every single venue. Is there a festival besides download that's like your bucket list to play.

I'm very excited about it because I was at every oz Fest there ever was. Yeah, Like so the fact that they're bringing it back, I'm like, yes. Fingers crossed it. It would be insane if we could do that, So. I think they absolutely do. I could tell you too.

8:21 One of the greatest things about oz Fest is the biggest bands in the world right now is because of oz Fest. Yes. I literally in nineteen ninety nine saw on third stage, which was a little stage not much bigger than two of these tables put together in this moment, mud Vein and Slipknot all three and like, holy fuck, I don't even know how they fit nine people on the stage. Slipknot but Like, that is something that Sharon is brilliant at, you know, is creating bands like there are a bands of course, but bring.

9:02 It to Speaking of Slipknot Not Fest is another one that I've always wanted to do, Yes, because the countries I think it's in Brazil right one of those are not Fest in Brazil, and that all scene out there is unreal, So playing that would be insane. That's all I ever hear like, I'm thinking of I go apply for credentials for those festivals because I heard the Brazil festivals are just like those fans are fucking mental. Man. Oh, that's what we want, right, we want a washpit of like thirty thousand people. That's what we need. There, you go, that's how you top download right right? And so what would you say is your best piece of merch that you sell?

9:46 Oh? So with Dog Bandannas, Yeah, the Dog Bandannas prim of Dog Bandannas. We every time we sort of do a single, we we usually have a piece of merch to go with it. We like to try and keep it like we do. Our latest single, Mask had its own T shirt with it. But Nice. We've got a new single coming out called John Doe. It's just a disc track basically, and the merch is insane. It looks so good. It's not even here yet, and I know it's my favorite. Nice because my thing is it's nobody can listen to my show unless say, buy your merch. Oh, it's got to be done. It has to be done, because. That's that's how you're gonna get to these other places. Exactly.

10:26 People don't realize that's why I talk about it all the time. Artists don't make shit anymore like people think, Okay, you only make on your merch. That's how you get to the next gig. It means so much to the bands if you buy their merch. Exactly, just it goes way further than people think. An extra tenor is going to go a long way, whether they know it or not. So if you're sitting or doing why don't they play my down by their merch and then they can. Go buy merchant? Will be to Australia mate. Seconds there you go. So anything else you want to tell the listeners, we haven't covered yet.

I mean our following account has been going up since download as well, but you know, recently this year has been mega and I think the people who do support and follow Primer they need a shout out because they have been buying our much. They have been turning up to our shows, Nate and you know, the support we've been getting is unreal. And to our manager Dave, each shout out Dave, Yeah we do. You know Prime is not just us for it's a whole team, so you know there's people behind the scenes I think. All of those are the reasons why you guys are climbing is A you're authentic. B. You realize you can't do it without your team, oh million percent.

11:48 You know it's not if it was just us, for we, we would not have been playing Download today. Yeah, you know, it is everybody who's part of Primer. And I think people don't realize the logistics playing a gig, you know, and like you said, the logistics of trying to play a download without a crew that would be insane. It's borderline impossible. You need you need a crew and you need a team to help you for it. Because Download is not just a pub it's a big, big, if probably the biggest festival in the UK for the sort of music. So there we go. Exactly the logistics that goes behind everything. You know. You go and see one of your favorite bands and you think that was amazing, and I can't wait to see him next time, And they've got so much planning to do before that next show, right, There is so much involved, you know. Yeah, so it is really a team job.

12:38 That's why I like to talk about it because people are at ten festivals they don't understand what goes on behind the scenes. They think you're just hanging out backstage partying and then go play. You know, like that's what's the case. I know that's so far from the truth. No, exactly, did I show you there's a bloodstock by. The way, I recognize? Oh yeah, no you did. Okay, I want to make sure. I don't know. You could, man, we'll sign it for you if you want. You could to sign it. All those drawings are me too. I did all those. That's not me, that's I can't even remember who signed it, but it was a band.

13:20 In an interview, I love it, Misfits there as well, Yeah, sick. Yep, yep, coc I interviewed them yesterday there on here you know, and what they noticed too if you notice. Suicidal tendencies as well. They're playing download this year, aren't they? Did they play down Loud? I don't think so, but maybe it was another lineup. They played Milwaukee Metal Fest, which I was just at anice, and they had two sets, one with Suicide, one was Psycho Mico, which is Mike's solo stuff nice and they played Subliminal in both. It's super excited because that's like one of my favorite songs ever, you know. But yeah, they noticed that. It's like I have punk on here, I've metal on here at a time where you couldn't do that. In the eighties, you couldn't co mingle. I always thought it was stupid. We're similar music. We were both getting harasses beat by the jocks, you know, band together idiots. But now we've finally figured it out. Yes, where we can all band together as one big family.
