Yes, you got sent to prison. Just arrived, so I have to know all the other inmates. See how he's gonna be. You're gonna have to make some friends. Oh yeah, you know, some connection maybe some Italian friends.

0:43 Yeah, there you go. So have you guys ever played in I don't remember because they all yes. We played here a few years ago, probably four years ago more or less. And how cool was it to play here with the prison Ashank prison as your background. It's definitely unique, like we never seen anything like this, you know that first time we played sometimes like two weeks ago we bring in France in Europe in a castle inside the castle, but never inside the prison, so so. It was definitely unique. We took we took a tour the last time inside to see that the cell blocks, and that's that's pretty spooky as well, a very ghost stunted kind of place, but very unique and fun.

1:30 So it was a great show also totally. And you know on that haunting thing, like they have the Blood Prison, which is the Haunted Basement. But there are real ghosts here, yes, so they say, but I've heard of experiences. Yeah. We gotta go on a tour later with some winners of the contest, so we're going to visit the prison together. So very excited after the show. Yeah, that's fun. What's that your guys idea? No, I think it's at organize it. Yeah. Yeah, that's pretty cool. See that's cool about doing a venue like this, right, you can do like cool things you don't normally do. Yeah. I would get also a tattoo, but we're flying out tomorrow to Europe, so it's not a good idea to tattoo today and then tomorrow flyout.

2:18 You know, are you doing what festivals are you doing in Europe? And we're doing vaking in Germany. I'll be there. Yeah, and then in the same weekend we go to Greece. They in an island in crete and you pay like open air festival there. It's two nights only and we headline one of the two nights. So it's gonna be a. Little vacation because we stayed there like three days because we're flying straight from Vaking to Greece. We arrived like two days earlier, so we get enjoyed the island for two days with the hotel and then play the show. That's like me, I'm going to head out the Valking and then i do Bloodstock, but there's like a. Few days in between. Yeah, and so easy to travel in Europe.

3:01 I love it. Like I'm just gonna hop on a plane to month and Agro and stayed there for a couple of days and you. Know, yeah, it's a lot of easy like one hour flights location you could see, you know, and then or even the train system is pretty developed so you can, yeah, you reach the places is not too long, you know. Yeah, it's cool. Because like last year after download, before Hellfest, I have to a plane for like seventy bucks to Morocco. For three days. Yeah, like that blows my mind. I can't even my daughter lives in the same state as me, but way on the opposite end, it costs me more than that to fly up to her. Yeah. I think the way the States has been developed in the transportation, it relies mostly on flight or or tour buses and you know, RVs and stuff like that, so it never really developed the train so much. But Europe being very old, you know, we way before the planes.

3:58 We already had the trains, you know well. And you know, like the building here, the prison. A lot of the bands I was talking to yesterday they say it reminds them of being in Europe and kind of that. It really does. Absolutely, yeah, very classic, almost like a fortress, like yeah, yeah. Because you don't really have that in the US. It seems like a place you could be in the UK totally. Yeah, or even like some of the castles in Germany and. Yeah, yeah, northern Europe, like Northern Europe, not in Italy. Italy. It's a bit different. Architecture as a variety, because Italy develops a lot in the land, So from south to north there's a huge difference in architecture and stuff like that.

4:39 Like where we're from. We're from the north, from Milan. It's more similar to Germany or the northern France, southern France. You know. Yeah, I rode trip through Italy, but the northern part. I was supposed to go a southern part, but then they had that terrorist attack in France. My son in law was with us and he was in the army, and he was told, no. Not a good idea. But I did go to Genoa, Milan, Florence, Tuscany, Venice. Yeah, I think that was it. Yeah, and they're all. Different, but the South is even more different. So the weather is different all lier long. And if you think about place like Sicily, which is the very bottom of Italy, it's very close. It's closer to North Africa than it is to Milan. You know, it's a distance wise, so it's a different food tradition. They had all kinds of religion either being under the Jewish religion and the Greek religion, and a Muslim religion and now the Christian obviously. But sometimes you can see some chapels which have sign of all the three main religions because in history they've been and they always lived together, you know, they never really fought.

5:52 You know. I love that because like I'm a Jew, and like I loved when I went to Bali and I went to this one temple that was both do and Buddhist. I'm like, it's so cool to share it together, like we don't have to be against each other. No, no, absolutely, actually a religion. I'm not a super religions person. I'm interested in the history of religion a lot, exactly, and the cultural aspects. I do have a believe like, I think there is something higher than us for sure. I just don't know, you. Know, we don't know for sure. Yeah until until exctly we will find out one day, hopefully as late. As possible, right, like my belief. But I respect people's faith, you know, I think it's good.

6:35 As long as the faith brings people together, it's great, you know. And everything that helps in your life to have a better, more healthier lifestyle, it's great. You know if it comes from religion, If you find your motivation in religions, that's great. You know. As long as you are a good person, it's great. That's why I say all the time, I'm like, you do you as long as you're being a good person makes you a better person for yourself and better to other. Human beings, exactly exactly, that all it matters. And you can follow these so that religion is sub series story. It's your family, you know, it's it's a cultural matter. No doubt. And then on my mother's side, my grandfather was one hundred percent Italian. I never got really much information, but then I was talking somebody a download who was Italian, and she said, the way you're saying things, you're from I think she said, you're from the South.

7:29 Yeah. Most of the immigration that happened around the Second World War or even before that, in the early nine hundred, like probably nineteen hundreds, probably from southeast. There's some Northernner as well, but the Southerner, due to the economical condition, they migrate much more than the Northerner. In the Northerner ten to migrate more towards Germany, Belgium, that part more of the northern European, while the central and southern the boat and all the way to Ellis Island or something like that. See, so I have more confirmation, Like I can't find out from my family, I just find out from people from there.

8:10 Yeah, oh no better. A lot a lot of the Italian American we meet on the road when we tour in America, they're from the South. Not all of them, but a lot of big percentages from the South. You can tell about the food, tradition, dialects, you know, you can tell they're from the South. The food I can tell because from what I know, and you could correct me if I'm wrong. The food in the south uses the red sauce. The north it's more into the white sauce. Yes, yes, nowadays it's very mixed, you know, because also Italy has been subject to a lot of migration, a lot of different contamination, and a city like Milan where we live, it's like New York, you know, you have all kinds of restaurants from everywhere, from all traditions. But in the origin, yes, the tomato sauce is more central South Italy, Lasagna is more central, like Reggie, Emilia, Bologna, that part, and then the north is a bit more the rice, especially in our area where we come from Milan, and we have the saffron rice, so the yellow rice is typical. So there's a lot of rice cultivation.

9:15 So definitely South because we were all back and like I used to get yelled at if I called it sauce, it's gravy. Yeah, I mean, we call it also salsa, which is sauce. Basically, we don't have the exact translation for gravy, but we do it as well, you know. There you go. And so I have all the festivals in the world you guys have played, which is the one that sticks out most in your mind. There's many, many great festivals. One for the fun of it. Once we played in Bangalore, India, nice and it was called October. Fest, just like the beer Fest in Munich in Germany.

9:57 And all the girls that were Indian obviously, but they were dressed like the Bavarian girls, you know, with the traditional customer and even the man they had that, and they had the big kegs of beers like the leaders, the huge beers, so everything was like German style, but it was in India, so it was like super warm, and the stage was built. In bamboo hood. It was like a. Completely weird combination, you know. And I still have a tome. They gave us like a huge mug with the elephant, with the Indian elephant for beer, you know. So it was a weird mix, you know. So that was the most interesting I think. You know. Then in terms of great festival, I remember a Rock on the Range in Columbus and now it's a Sonic Temple.

10:41 It was one of the very first big festival we played in North America, and it was great, you know, because it was crazy amount of people doing circle pits at the same time and crowdsurfing, and and of course Odds Fast. Odds Fast was the the place where it became a known band in North America, so that's something of a special remembrance for us. You know. I'm very happy it's coming back. Yeah, I heard, but it seems like more like a unique show, not not like a tour like as it. Used to be. It's probably gonna start like warp tour, did okay, start like that and then build. I was at every Odds Fest since the first one, like right, you know, so I'm kind of excited about that.

11:25 We did two Odds Fasts, like two thousand and four and two thousand and six, and it was a I still have the best rememberance from a summer tour ever. You know, Odds Nice. Anything else you got coming up this year that you want to let the listeners know about. Yeah, I mean, we're we're going to finish the festivals in August and then we have a kind of a break till probably December, where we were working on some Asian shows, some places we've never been before. And then next. Year we started in February March with European tour with daw Effect, which is a Swedish band used formally the people that used to being Inflames. Basically they put together this other band with the singer of Dark Tranquility and then some more to announce that we can't really announce.

12:15 And also we're gonna release a couple of songs that we haven't released yet, versions of songs that are different, and a surprise that by the end of the year. I love it. So everybody's got to go to your socials, your website, check it out, look at the tour dates, look when the music is coming out, and buy your merch because they can't listen to my show unless say buy your merch. Yeah that helps, thank you. That's how you get around. Yes nowadays. Yeah, mostly most of the fees they cover the cost and then we make money from the VIP meet and greet, and obviously the merch is the biggest part. Yeah.
