Nice, I think, I think I want to surf on other planets. Well, we need to get to another planet to be able to do just about anything, because this planet is kind of uh heading to hell? Yeah in so many ways. Where do we begin? Like, but then we're just gonna fuck up another planet?

0:46 Well, the problem is there isn't water on other planets, and there's no air or environment on other planets. But here we've got total chaos. And here we have all the beauty nature oceans that we could have. And then we have your. Band, Nice Segway, my friend, right right, So tell us what's going on and why did you get incarcerated? Well, so, our band is a pretty new band. It's about three years old, three four years old, and we just finished a tour with Spine, Shank, Head Pee and Primer fifty five. It was called the New Metal Sucks Tour and we did fifteen shows all across the Midwest of Ohio America out in west of Ohio. And that's our biggest tour today. I mean I've done other longer tours with other projects, but for this project, that was a very big deal for us. So we started in New Jersey and then went all the way west to Colorado. We finished up in Colorado. We played everywhere man Iowa, Ohio, Chicago, Illinois, Kentucky.

1:56 Super cool. So then in the fall we're going to tour the UK with Org and Spine Shank as well. Wow. And we just released a new song called make It Out Alive featuring Jake Gordon of Orgy Nice and it's doing really well online and been received really well by the fans and all kinds of new people as well. And I'm actually from Ohio originally, and I like to come back here to see my friends, like yourself, like Holly over there, Jose, all the luminaries of the fucking metal culture that we know and love. So really, I'm just here to hang and I would like our band to be playing this festival next year.

Okay, Where to play in Jersey? We played at a little place called Dingbats, which is like a punk rock dive bar kind of place, which I love those kinds of places actually, And to be clear, those other bands were on tour for like two months before that. We joined up for the last leg and that was our first show in Jersey and it was super chaotic. Man. It was crazy because like we have a whole system, Like we came in with our mixed set and we were like on stage ready to go, and the mixing lady was running back and forth tweaking shit and everything, and everyone's like, why aren't you guys playing.

3:33 I'm like, I'm waiting for the sound guy sound girl actually, But anyway, that was the first show Dingbats. Also, I'm a huge Misfits fan. Glenn Jerry, all those guys they're from New Jersey. Do you know those guys? I did not know them, like personally, I have their review Doyle, Oh, very nice, very nice. And the town at my studio was in for like the last twenty years till recently lived there too. And I was at the dentist when I first moved to that town, and I was wearing a Misfits shirt. Yes, And as he's drilling, he's going, so are you a Misfits fan? I'm like, yeah, he goes Glenn Damsig's my brother in law.

4:15 Whoa. I love that small world stuff. Right, That's why don't be a dick. You never know when you never know, Like I could have had some Misfits suck shirt on it. Right here. Oh that's badass. Well, dude, that's kind of crazy because I fucking hate the dentist, if I'm being honest with you. But there you are wearing your Misfits shirt in the chair. Was it just a routine procedure or whatever? It was just a I don't know, a cavity. I think it's a cavity. So is Glenn's brother in law? Yes, he said, wow. Well, you know, Glenn lived in Hollywood. I don't know if he still does, but he had this house on Franklin Avenue and he painted all black. And then word got out that was his house, so people used to go by and hang out in front of his house because he's a legend in his own right, you know. And I think he sold it a couple of years ago. But there's like all these like piles of bricks in the front yard and stuff, and I don't know whatever. But on a side note, my brother Mario and I have a Misfits tribute band called Wee Bite because I just love the music, such great songwriting, you know, and gotta love it. What's your favorite song to play right now off the top of night. I would say some kind of Hate because you know that song.

5:30 Of course, it's very simple, but the melodies are very smooth and intoxicating. Like you know, he's like a almost like an Elvis or a Jim Morrison type character over punk rock songs. What's not to love? Exactly one hundred percent. So tell us about your new music. Tell us more about tell the listeners. Give them like a visual image of what they can expect when they listen to it. Sure, so this is alternative rock. Influences are like Lincoln Park, Smashing Pumpkins, a little bit of Limp Biscuit. There's certainly some metal influence in there as well. But this most recent song is essentially like a very heavy downtune song but with like really nice floating pop melodies over top of it. So I really encourage everybody to listen to make it out alive. Jay is singing the intro, He's singing through the choruses and a little bit of the verse, Jay from Orgy, and it's like, I'm very modern, fresh sown.

6:28 Obviously I'm biased. It's my shit, but if you like melodies but you also like heavy music, I think you're gonna like it. You know, if Jay's part of it, it must be good. Well, I think so. I think it was a great song even before that. But our manager Tom was like, we should do a feature on this. We started talking to Jay, he listened to the song. He really dug it. And now we're touring with them in the fall. So tell me how it happened, Like how Jay ended up on the song. I mean that was the spark, right, So I had the song almost done, to be honest with you, but I'm supposed to have Like so, Johnny from spine Jank is doing a collab with us on dial Loan, another song we have and we're gonna have Stephen Richards from Taproot.

7:15 On another song. So I'm like trying to bring in. People that I really love and respect. And then with this song, we're like, well, we already got these other two guys. Who can we put on this song? And we just like we're like listening to the song and like, stylistically, it's got kind of an orgy vibe. And then that led us to Jay. So Tom got on the phone with Jay. We had a conference call, send him the song, and he like immediately he was into it. The trouble though, is Jay had just finished a tour, I think, and then he had a big like his computer kind of melted down. So it took a long time because he had. To basically rehabilitate his computer get his files back. Then he started sending us demos, so we went back and forth over the phone, and what he turned in was fucking really cool, man.
